Lads does anyone know an Irish company that can make up a pc to order.
Thats a certain motherboard and a certain graphics card and a certain monitor etc. all put together for you.
I want to spend money on a good pc but theres some specific stuff i want in it and for the life of me I just cant buy a dell or a gateway knowing i can get 30%+ more from a clockable machine shur its scandalaous smile.gif

Or perhaps a company that sells a broad range of pc stuff so i can buy the stuff meself and make it up instead. Those UK places are just not worth the exchange rate atm.
    So can anyone help ?

Right micro about £1600. That includes a ddr geforce and a hardware decoder for the dvd because I dont a have a price just now for a drive on its own. I dont think Evesham are specifying you a ddr geforce so just check so we can compare like with like here. It also has the p3 600 which I feel is better. I could run this at 800 for you if you liked also.

amds 1ghz chip isn't the best..
a p3 866 will outperform it in about 40% of tests... their cache design becomes a bottleneck over 900Mhz.

heh imagine spending 2600 quid on a computer and you get a tnt2 and a cheap monitor.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,109 ✭✭✭sutty

    is that an o/c cpu??

sould i be the first one to say that a 1Gz athlon is not out yet?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,109 ✭✭✭sutty

yes but he wants made to order pc's from people around ireland not gateway,

also as said by Kali a tnt2, sblive value and what motherboard dose it use??? whats up with that??? if your going all out you get a g-force ddr and a sblive with a live drive and a set of those creative 5. desktop theater speakers

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,428 ✭✭✭Gerry

A gateway machine is gonna be slower by default anyway. If anyone wants a quote for a pc, email the specs to leixlipcomputers@hotmail.com and we will give a competitive quote. Also our pc's are fully tweaked, all high quality components, with the latest patches and drivers. We also offer a better service than gateway because we know what we are talking about!

    www.scan.co.uk

and buy the graphics card off electronics boutique, theyre the cheapest, and have a shop in dublin

    about buying from scan..
sterling prices make it equivalent to the irish manufacturer prices.
absolutely no point unless you must choose everything yourself and are willing to pay more.

and theres loads of 5-10% vouchers flying around for EB .. which is handy alright
    (from www.eb.uk.com:
    Geforce 256 DDR £229.99
    Geforce 256 SDR £169.99
    TNT2 £99.99
    M64 £79.99
    prices in sterling)
