    I came across a game called Dwarf Fortress recently. A virtual world is randomly created and you can populate it with Dwarven adventurers and create a fortress. It's a big tough to get the hang of but if you're into strategy games I would say it's worth a look.

    Sauerbraten - think Quake 3 meets Serious Sam. Not bad at all for a free/open source game.

    I've only tried it single player for the moment, but it has multiplayer. Tip: "One Man Army" mode is like Serious Sam, with hordes of enemies rushing at you :D

    There is an incredible completed mod for Freespace 2 that updates all the textures to modern standards and allows high resolutions.

    Only problem I had was that some things are off when playing in widescreen (as the game wasnt meant to be played that way). They could have fixed it by now as I havnt played it in about 6 months.

    Grab freespace 2 (the link is in the 1st post), install it and then grab the FSO installer.

    I've started a flash games portal that just features good games rather than _every_ game that's out there (90% of flash games are really, really poor). However the good ones are getting pretty excellent these days. Here's a few we've put up on our site:

    Monster's Den - Really excellent dungeon exploring RPG. Tactical battles, lots of loot, new skills as you go deeper, and all really simple to get stuck into with plenty of depth as you get the hang of it.

    Battalion: Nemesis - Brilliant turn-based tactics game with gameplay inspired by Advance Wars. In each mission you can expand your base by taking over buildings and then build new soldiers, tanks, ships or aircraft to outmanouvre and outwit the AI.

    Mud & Blood II - A unique "sandbox" game where you take control of a small squad of WWII soldiers in a small, realtime battlefield. Quite hard to do well at first but absolutely addictive later on as you try and get further and further.

    Squares and Blades - a funky turn based tactics game set on a chessboard-like map. Very good, though I found it a bit frustrating later on (as you need to replay maps to keep units)

    Talesworth Arena: Death Watch - very cool strategic arena game; you take part in fights, upgrade skills, buy or find new loot etc. The battles are very tactical, based around using your skills to counter your opponent's.

    Super Energy Apocalypse Recycled - an unusual mix of RTS base building & tower defense. Quite a good game underneath a truly garish colour scheme.

    Mytheria - a card game in the style of Magic: The Gathering; quite good but the 'campaign' battles are a bit uninspiring (not enough deck variety)
