Very clean saph for it's age. Pity it's not a cossie :)

era id love a cossie but id imagine youd have a hard task to get a good one.and id say a bad one would be an awful moneypit.

theres years of troublefree motoring left in the glsi and mite even be a bit rarer than a cosworth too

    Drives great!

I've just been up the Wicklow mountains and it felt great

A few things need to be fixed and gotten for it but nothing too difficult or expensive I hope

    Nice F John!

One question, should the steering wheel MG logo be like that or should it not be the coloured badge? Maybe that only started in the TF.

Someone posted an Integra on another thread and someone else pointed out that the steering wheel centre wasn't what it should have been due to the airbag going off and it was replaced on the cheap. That's what made it pop into my head.

It's the basic steering wheel. It looks leather in the pictures but it's actually plastic. As far as I know the steering wheel was upgraded to include the shiny badging before it became the TF. Around MY2000 I think. Also if fitted with (half) leather interior the steering wheel came as a leather one but again the badging was the same as mine.

Also a lot of cars have had their steering wheel upgraded. I'm going to do that with this one. I haven't found any crash damage anywhere...........I got up close and personal as I had to 'break in' to the front bonnet after the release cable snapped :o

That's good to hear! Do you mind me asking how much you paid for the car?

    I would certainly think so.

It's refreshing to see an original old Sierra that is not (or made to look like) a Cossie.

thanks for that volvoman , as you say most sierras are done as cossie reps and id like to keep this one a little bit different as i dont know of any other glsi sierras around my neck of the woods anyway.

Clayed my car today for the first time ever, all I can say is wow, it shifts so much dirt from the lower half of the car you would not believe. I got the Meguiars Clay Kit, which includes two clays, detailer spray, towel and liquid wax.

And I clean my car pretty much twice a week and the black and brown crap that came off the car today after a full wash was incredible. Definitely recommend it. I did it all today with the intention of using Halfords G3 to remove swirls but the clay ate up the whole afternoon.

    e381.jpg

Even with no wax or correction, it has never looked better since I got it.
Oh, and Meguiars tyre gel is brilliant stuff!

Wow! I drove a 172 recently and they're fun by epic proportions, faster than a Euro R in a straight line and I'm pretty sure in corners too.

The only difference in the 17 and 18 is the exhaust manifold, right? What's added again for that RS?

Yep! Just the exhaust manifold for that extra 10 horsies.
This one has the upgraded recaro seats, Upgraded exhaust system and the all important Sachs Dampers, making it 2 secs quicker on a 1:00 track than a standard 182.
Can't think of anything else at the moment!

    Mine is No. 58/500

My Coupe after a nice wash on Sunday morning. I put 400 miles on it the day before, drove Dublin -> Limerick -> Sligo -> Dublin. €80 worth of petrol though :( But its sitting on Eibach Pro springs now so was very nice on the country roads.
