Got some decent whittling knives and gouges. It's so much easier with decent tools! Couldn't find a template for a cocker spaniel so eyeballed someone else's creation. Didn't quite get the proportions right and the eyes are a bit funky but I'm quite happy with the result and finish. Used a small block of basswood and dyed with 1 coat of Rustins light teak and 3 coats of Danish oil.

I’d love your thoughts on my new design: the “Stay Positive Shark Shirt". What do you think?

I’d love your thoughts on my new design: “Don't Touch My Phone Shirt". What do you think? It's a typographic illustration that reads "Don't Touch My Phone" which puts forward a bold statement regarding privacy.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on my latest design: the "Cerberus Shirt." What do you think? The design is a typographic illustration that cleverly spells out "Cerberus" while incorporating a fierce, dangerous-looking Cerberus character blended together to capture the essence of this mythical three-headed guardian.

Mod: Threads merged. @maxhar , this is getting into dangerous advertising territory. I'll leave your posts for now, but remember to read the forum charter before posting. Thanks.

A couple of new additions. Still struggling with scale and proportions.

I have started making these lads from rocks picked up on the beach in Wexford using a Dremel 8220.

Stole the idea from something I saw on Pinterest, so far from original 😔

New to this…. have some other ideas in the pipeline

Started an evening drawing and sketching course tonight. I think I inadvertently drew Melania Trump!😂

Despite looking nothing like the original I'm quite happy with the effort on the right.

I don't know about the other creative folk on here, but grief really made painting hard for me over the past couple of years, since Dad passed away.

But, in the last two weeks, after some false starts and poor efforts I didn't enjoy a moment of, I finally painted something and really enjoyed it.

This is a painting of a walk in Portrane, next to where I work. I took the photo preCovid, and it took this long to be able to paint it.

Then, it only took 4 and a half hours!

Had a bit of a dip myself the last few months - though it may have been more to do with work impinging on my hobbies - should be the other way around !

Just to revive the thread a bit, because there are some amazing works shared. A couple of efforts at trying to make the white spaces pop on 70*80 canvas with acrylic.

That's my last 70*80 canvas. It's a bit of fun though, despite the expense nowadays.

I was at the EVA in Limerick at the weekend, just back. It was ok, but I have to say that the permanent display in the Limerick Gallery of Art is amazing. It was my first time there, and it's such a great space. Anyone from Limerick should be proud to have it there and for free.

    Without a Trace (20251023075150).jpg

My 8yo drew this in the car this morning. Considering that I can't draw a straight line and know nothing, I can't stop looking at it, proud daddy effect or no
