How is Shane Magowan still alive?

He isn't. Shane Magowan is CLEARLY a corpse re-animated by Black Magiks

With those teeth? Of course. I believe Marc Bolan controls him and Keith Richards with magick strings. Why Marc Bolan? It was the anniversary of his death a few days ago. It was Hendrix's 35th on Sunday too. Great month for music.
And I have no idea how much tickets for Bob are. I reckon about the same as for Don. No, probably higher. But it's Bob Dylan! He's not just a legend, but the legend! And if anyone makes a "yore ma" joke here, I'll ramble on about Bob. And when I start rambling about Bob, I don't stop...

Yore ma...*decides not to continue in case you actually carry out that threat!*

He wrote Masters of War, right?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 270 ✭✭LordCran

He did indeed. Great song, but sadly not that well known.
And don't even tempt me to carry out the threat. My rambling will be conducted over several posts, so you can't escape it. Oh, while I'm on the subject:
No Direction Home: 4 hour Bob Dylan documentary
    Monday BBC2 9p.m. (I think)
    Directed by Martin Scorsese
Should be interesting, since I believe the man himself has given his pesonal blessing, something which he very, very rarely does.
Only fly in the ointment is that it clashes with the final Lost...

I suppose at this point I can take it that no one's going to the Melvins? And to anyone at Trivium last night, any good?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 96 ✭✭guX

Trivium was f*cking amazing. Best €5 I ever spent. They said they're coming back in March aswell.

Soooooooo, did anyone watch No Direction Home? Clue: the answer I would prefer is yes. Even if you're not a Bob fan (which everyone is, at least subconciously), it was really interesting. And it contained the classic line: "I don't know what the **** my songs are about, but in 20 years time, people will be writing what they're about". And they are!

The Pogues are just fantastic! A punk-rock band that doesn't play rock! And plays it beatifully!
Can someone explain that to me? I'm confused again...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 620 ✭✭✭Mr.D.Leprachaun

Don't try to apply logic to my posts. It doesn't work and is highly disrespectful of my insanity. Anyway...

    Conform!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 238 ✭✭Per Liefsonson

Sorry master. It will not happen again. *conforms*

Of course, I mean I have read and adored Snow Crash, but I'm more of a
scimitar/chinese broadsword man myself. Tulwar also.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 238 ✭✭Per Liefsonson

    I don't know. Couldn't get in.... Grr.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 270 ✭✭LordCran

In a dramatic change of music type, I'm going to see the Fureys on Sunday. Should be good. Better be good, actually, because I went through a lot of hassle to get those tickets.
