Hmm that sounds a bit strange alright. As far as I know creatine mainly helps your muscles recover after training thats why you drink it straight after training. But since tablets take a little longer to dissolve and absorb you have to take them a little bit before. The creatine drink has to be (idealy) consimed within 30 mins of a work out where your insulin levels are high, so I would either take them a little before your work out finishes or directly after.

If they're caps, then they have powder in them, and should absorb pretty quickly. 6 pills sound alot, though.... does it say how much creatine is in each capsule?

I bought them in a shop in mahon point called holland & barrett i forget the brand name. Creatine Capules 700mg

Ah well thats it, then. 700mg * 6 = 4,200mg. This is less potent than a heaped teaspoon of creatine powder (which works out about 5,000mg). 6 caps is the recommended dosage (not loading dosage), so thats what you have to take!

me too, Ive only used powder. I suppose since they are diluted they would be ok to take 6. Id probably go for the recomended dosage, safest bet.

When you take creatine is irrelevant. It builds up in your system over a period of weeks. On the caps (which works out expensive) just take 6 once a day at a time that suits you.

I would suggest powder next time as it is far better value.

I've known guys to take 20grams at a time everyday for months so 6 pills at once is the accepted normal daily amount.

Co's make up these complex usage directions to get you thinking more about the product.

thks for the replies i was wondering taking the 6 caps was a loading phase...for the pills.

Im on my first batch at the moment and I didnt bother with the loading phase, after speaking to a doctor and a food sience expert they said that asicly your liver will be washing out the excess. Now I only take the creatine after the gym, so 4 days a week. This was my own decision not there advice but I have noticed a huge gain in my strenth in the gym. I started the course about 3/4 weeks ago and I have uped my bench weight by 14 Kilos, in fact for the last week in the gym I was upping by 2 kilo's each time. I think it is a great supplement taken correctly and followed by a protein shake. I will definitly be running it to the end of the course and then after a break I can definitly see myelf going on it for at least one more course. The results on my body have been pretty fantastic from my routine and I will post some photos of the difference it made at the end of August when i hope to have reached my goal.

If you take creatine and not train, or overdose do you get fat?

What are the side effects of creatine use?

No, when you work out, you strain/damage(although a strong word) your muscles. Creatine works by repairing your muscles faster, and therefore helps them grow in strenth and size. As for sidde effects, all I have noticed is that I am lifting more and perhaps putting on a bit of extra muscle. Do a search on Creatine if want to know more, there is about a thread a week on this forum
