Nice 1 Derra looking for this for years now what a night. David Holmes wrecked the place that night to a full house savage stuff.

i was at that myself, carl cox was good and holmes was savage altogether. the only down side to the night was pete tong, ****ing stank the place out of it with the biggest load of ****e-house you've ever heard.

funnily enough, i was listening to the tape again the other week and got one of those flash backs, as you do. i remembered holmes had that big drum roll build up tune hopping away at the start and just as he was going to mix in the second tune, some gimp bumped off the decks on his way down off the stage. you can hear it in the mix the way it sort of just jumps in. holmes had a look of pure murder on his face, classic! it's amazing what you can remember 11 years or so later.

whats thw savoy like lads? have never been in there and a few of us are thinking about making the trip from limerick

Well I made the trip down from Dublin to see a pendulum dj set in December and I thought it was pretty decent. Its above a shopping centre which I found quite odd. It was a good venue but the smoking area is really out of the way and for some reason if you have a pint you have to pour it from your glass into a plastic cup when you go into the smoking area (thats my only complaint though ha)

Hey Caff and StephenN, I believe there is a great program out called "MS SprayPaint" suppose to be dealy for flyers.

    Here's an example:

I think it's safe to say if it starts with MS it's for amatures lol
Have you moved on from publisher then jay ;)

[stephen_n] - No kidding stevo, I noticed that myself on first glance.

He should have broken up the colours of the DJ names rather than having them all in one colour except Dilly cause that makes dillys name merge with the graphic above

This is a great thread, probably one of the best in the history of
boards.ie - most of the threads on this site are stupid men vs. women
    "jokes" or some other rubbish.

I have shown this thread to a few people who are not on boards
and they said it was good enough to be in a book!

I haven't read all the pages from the start, it is so big.

Most of the posts are expired rapidshare/yousendit posts.

If these were removed and only the relevant posts left, it would
make it much more useful to read and use as a reference.

Actually, why is this thread called "The Asylum" thread? I know it was merged with a couple of threads that up at the time about classic Dublin clubs. Surely it shouldn't be specific to just one club?

Yes, defo a sticky. All the old rapidshare and yousendit links shoul be edited out, leaving
only the juicy innards of a time when clubs were clubs, and punters were mashed :)

I posted that link - I got it from from a dj who works for a big dublin radio station, which I wont name, but I'm sure dave knows him ;) ) - He told me to check it out, after all, dave is using my name and artwork (NR:Gex) and the rest of the possee for that matter on his link bar. - It reminded me of a room on the RhythmFM forum called CAFSGAFF (EMP) [Electronic Music Production / Tips 'n' Tricks] ....ahem.

Sorry Dave if I let the cat outta' the bag, no malice intended, but I'm sure you have the backing and support of everybody here,.... [ps] - keep an eye on your bandwidth quota dave, my monthly quota was blown away in 6 days flat and the links were only sent to a select few, So I dread to think what the bandwidth cost would have been if I put the site live / global. I'm playing about with a few ideas at the minute to overcome that problem as I want to try keep it 'free to use' for all.

My NR:Gex links in the sig below are stored on the Eircom.net server, using the free 100mb storage you get when you sign-up for broadband. If everybody used their 100mbs we'd have a nice lil' gaff, :) - The old NR:Gex streaming realplayer discography is from an old dial-up subscription accout from 1999. I think they leave me (and it) alone, as I stick to their TOS and link back to the eircom.net homepage when possible. However, they want me to ring their €1:50 a minute help line to update my security details, (which have NOT changed) - They have no email address for me to do this, they said I MUST ring them. If it really was a security issue I'd EXPECT them to ring me, at their cost. - So dont fall for that aul' scare-tactic lads.

[And I agree, It's the best local thread by a long shot lads, hands down. If every poster put their links in their sig, there would be no dead links left lying around - it's easier to update and edit aswell. AND if you link to a your own webpage and put the actual links on that, there are no-limits - one single page is all you will need, any FREE account will work]
