I'm working on something better at the minute - I'll post a link when I upload it.

Deadly, we must hook up soon for a beer/chat and a tape exchange. Let me know when it suits ya. Did you check Ishkur's site? You'd really apprciate it.

If WK’s Breakbeat tape was from the Cretaceous period then this is a tape from the Jurassic period:

Sort of stuff that got me into the sound. Before that I used to call it Plastic Music. Gen:FX knows what I’m talking about :) S-Express should spring to mind…

Yo, wadup Gen:FX nice talking to ya last night. Your text was a pleasant surprise. Good job on your signature and links to old flyers. Brings back some good memories for sure. And the photos of the Bottom and Janelle (South band Show) are deadly. Never seen the Janelle ones, GAS :p

Ok Re that tape that was posted (thanks whoever you are :D ) It was actually called 'Trance Seduction' not sure when I did that, think it was in 93 or something and can only remember the names of a few of the tracks. Unfortunately the 1st and 2nd on side B escape me for now but I'll get some other ears to listen and who knows maybe we can come up with something.

The ‘Ignorance I’ and ‘II’ tapes came after that one. Somebody said that they posted these? Can you send me the links please? Twud save me doing them

I still have most of my masters including ‘Trance Seduction’ but I've only managed to Digitize ‘Better Days’. Just all club classics really. It was the last one I did before I chucked it in. Will find a free way to upload ‘Better Days’ for those who would be interested.

Other tapes in the collection include:

    ‘Bliss’
    ‘Rotations’
    ‘Mind Control’

There is another one, but again the name of it escapes me, will have a good old root through them and dig them out and dust them off. Don’t get much time to convert music to MP3 these days but once I do I’ll post them up and get as many track names as I can.

    Bless one and all
    J

Here's a list of what I have .mp3 wise. It's everything (Dance/Techno/House etc..) that I have not just Old tunes but it is mostly early to mid 90s stuff. If there are any tracks you'd like me to U/L do out a list and I'll throw em up...

LMAO @ JC - When you said you'd 'Dig your tapes out and dust them off, you were'nt kiddin' were you. Then again 'Plastic' does not degrade very well- Thanks be to Jay-zus. ;) - Warren must have been about 17 when he did that one, some nice tunes on it though, - (Nice set in that text file also.... mmmm)

Ha ha, yeah he woulda been alright. Ah God be with the days. Will we ever see the likes again?? I doubts it meself. Well at least we still have some good memories. ;)

Nice one Dub 1 for posting Bliss. When did you convert all the tapes?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 275 ✭✭Gen:FX

Yo Jay! - Tell'em how it is, Straight out'a Finglas. ;)

Wrap your good ear around this tune and gimme some feedback. It's a tune I'm mixing at the mo. It's Marvin Gayes - Sexual Healing & Gat Decors - Passion. This is the 1st Ruff Cut, it still needs a bit of work done, an Intro, Ending & Breakdown. Needs to be EQ'd aswell, so dont mind the 'top end', just lower your treble for now. I'm dabbling with some new techniques, check how his vocal is much faster than the original, but he does'nt sound like a chipmunk... (original vocal was 93 Bpm upped to a whopping 125 Bpm) - Granted there are a few 'nudges' in the drumtrack, (just pretend you dont hear them, ok boss) - Critique and Heckles welcome from anyone else who wants a listen. Nice1. ( Link in the Sig Below )

Anyway, Get your thinking cap on and get tracklist a together for that 'BLISS'.

ps - Who in the name of god ever heard of a fire extinguisher going off all by it's self ? .... AND another one went bandy during the demonstration of how the first one went off ... LOL - (Private Joke Folks - Sorry)

    BAPTISM BY mediaFIRE
