Will you for God's sake put us all out of our misery and name these people. I only recognise two, Toddy Enright and John O'Flaherty, mainly because they have not changed a bit.

Thank you , Sandhill. Didn't I think it was Junior there in the front. I never knew him with so much hair!
Now Snow Scorpion, what on earth is rimshot?

Now Snow Scorpion, what on earth is rimshot?

In old comedies when a comic would tell a stupid joke, the drummer would hit the drums making the sound ba-dump-bump and then hit the cymbals. That was the audiences' cue to laugh.
    Rimshot
The term is erroneously used to refer to the sting played by the drummer in cabaret shows to accentuate the punchline of a joke. As a result, a particularly obvious laugh line is sometimes called a rimshot.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rimshot

That takes us to the link for a sting:

A sting is a short sequence played by a drummer to punctuate a joke, especially an obvious or slapstick one. A sting is often used as accompaniment during cabaret- or circus-style shows. It is often erroneously called a rimshot.

Figures may take the form of a short roll followed by crash cymbal and kick drum, a flam, or a rimshot.

It is often spoken as "badum-CHING!" or similar, in response to hearing a particularly corny joke.

    Mission not 100% impossible anyway.
I recognise Vincent Carmody, John Hartnett and Tadhg Moriarty. Is that Den Stack at the back and maybe Paddy Horgan R.I. P. in front. maybe John Croghan on left. I'm struggling now.
    How was the birthday party?

Ok guys, I don't want you to struggle any longer or to strain your eyes any more. You pass the test. Congrats.
Cherry Tree: as a non drinker I had my fill of lemonade at the party, my feet are sore from the dancing and I got to embrace my twin !!

WARBOY: You are right . Did you see the photo of Bunny Dalton in an earlier thread ?

I'm from listowel. Bit of a photographer so if anyone wants any photos of certain places, let me know and I'll be more than happy to contribute :)

    Canon EOS 300D DSLR -- Canon EF-S 18-55mm f3.5 -- Sigma 28-300mm f3.5-5.6 DG -- Possibly Canon 430EX Speedlite** -- Hama Tripod -- BGE-1 Grip -- Canon 50mm f/1.4 prime hopefully!

    "Bit" of a photographer? ;)

"if anyone wants any photos of certain places"

Well, there's a little village 9 miles northwest of Listowel. And sometime if you happen to be going in that direction anyway .... :o

Progen, you do know your way around a camera. Anytime a photographer starts can get someone to notice beautiful lightning, you know the photogrpaher is no beginner.

Really great photos. Well done Progen. I think Snow Scopion put the finger on it with "you know your way around a camera". Keep it up.

Thanks for the comments people, really nice to see someone appriciates a photo or two.

There not my best by all means, a tad underexposed.. They actually looked brighter on the LCD, but once home on the laptop, they were slightly under. Not that it botheres me that much, I tend to bracket most of the sundown's a stop under and over. Anyway, I appriciate the comments :)

No doubt I'll contribute a few more 'better' ones now I've found the Listowel thread ;)

Anytime a photographer starts can get someone to notice .
 That's a lovely bit of grammar, isn't it? Thank God the nuns who taught me English aren't around to see it.

Blame it on cutting and re-writing posts to make them better. I do the same thing when I'm talking: I start a sentence, then half-way through I think of a better way to say it, and I end up saying the first half of one sentence and the second half of another sentence.:o :o

I think it's under the railway bridge in Cahirdown ('the Mail Road' (is that what's written underneath)). The bridge is gone now. If I'm right it's after the tracks were taken up around 1990.
