Porn star--Ive edited your post. Most of the posters here are really for regulation of the industry and posts like yours only add to the bad image of Tattoo artists and piercers.

    Consider this a warning.

We dont encourage underage tattooing / piercing here.

Is there any tattoo parlours in Northern Ireland? Preferably in Derry or Belfast? Good ones as well.

Speaking of age restrictions, is it true that if your parent signs a consent form you can get a tattoo / piercing done?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 958 ✭✭✭porn_star

hmm...isn't wildcat in northern Ireland, they've got a good rep!and there's belfast body works..or something...can't remember the exact name, think that's it..they go to the tattoo expo in midleton, i have a friend who got pierced by them. Most studios will pierce with parental consent, yeas..some don't but the majority will, if you're underage!

You have to be over 16 and youir parent has to be present to allow you to get pierced under the age of 18

i happen to be 15 and can get piercings without ID or parents present or a parent permission form or anything.

some people can...i've been getting pierced since i've been 12, in the best parlour in the city...they're a strict place, and the only reason i could get pierced is cos iv always looked older then what i am...they now know my real age (now 17) and the piercers laughed when i told them, they didn't mind, cos i became such good friends with them and i always looked after my piercings well....
other parlours will just pierce people, no matter what age, purely for the money....

i may aswell stay on topic, and post another studio...
    rebel tattoo, midleton,
    cork...
    if anyone is interested...
one good piercer..other one not so good(my opinion)....but the one who is good, is spanish, ive seen some nice pieces he's done...also a brilliant tattooist...

I've gotten all my piercings done in Raven on the Coal Quay cork city.
Yer man that does them is really good and professional.
I know there have been mixed reactions by a few people as regards to Raven, but i've always found it to be very good.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 958 ✭✭✭porn_star

with regards to cork..i'd recoomend tattoo zoo...she's a diamond of a piercer and the same for the tattooists and they're pretty much the only place in the city who are strict with age limits

We got Clown Town tattoos and piercers here in Ennis....talk to Tadhg for tattoos or Briona for piercing.

BTW, the age restriction on piercings in this country is bull****. Tattoos i can understand, but piercings?....seriously.

Yeah I mean imagine there being an age restriction on adults messing about and touching your childs genitals or breasts, seriously they are like so closed minded

<eidt> btw there is no legal age restriction that is not already covered by assault of a minor laws, there is nothing specific to tattoo/piercing, it is studios protecting themselves from legal action for the above reasons.

Just spotted one in Naas today but I can't remember the name of it.

It's on Basin Street which is near the Court House. It's the last shop on the right hand side if you're walking from Main Street and it's beside the game shop. The sign said they do piercing and tattoos

O.k, from someone who actually knows what they are talking about....

The best tattoo shops in dublin are
    1: Zulu, crown alley.
2: Art Tattoo (formerly Sacred Art), fownes st.
    3: Classic Ink, crow st.
(all of the above are located in Temple Bar, i have a lot of tattoos and i wouldn't go anywhere else)
The best piercing shops in dublin are,
1: Body Shock, fownes st upper.
    2: Snakebite, middle abbey st.
    3: Metal Morphosis, crown alley.
And thats it, for quality and cleanliness.

Other shops around the country worth a visit are, Jo Mylers in Waterford. Clown Town (tadgh) in Ennis. Danny Bullman in Limerick. And one of the best in the whole country is Arnos in Kilarney.

Make Ireland cleaner.. get tattooed!! Well wear everyone!! XXX

For piercings, Danny Guilfoyle in from the gunn tattoo studio in Tralee. Did a great job on my septum and hood (definitely a great job on my hood, I had to remove it the previous two times it was done in Galway).

Limerick: Living Art is brilliant, and they're also in Cork. I don't have an address but I do have a number. Limerick = 061310900 and Cork = 0214554848. They're really professional and helpful. Answered loads of questions for me.

Waterford: JMD's without a doubt. They did my tattoo and again they're really helpful and kind. Totally recommend them.

Definitely Irish Ink, Ronan there is brlliant he's done all of mine and most of my friends tattoos. Despite what some people say Irish Ink is a lot better than Metalworks, and their prices are better as well.
