Saw this 1600E today, it's for sale at a used car dealers between Tullamore and Clara. Originally a UK car on a H (etched on windows) at a glance it's shabby enough condition.

I just had a very quick look when I took the photo, but I'm guessing it was re-sprayed quite a few years ago. Noticed some surface rust around the B pillar and some trim missing.

Should be passing there again later in the week and will enquire about price.

Where did you find her and who owns her? It looks like it is very roadworthy.

...on the N63, somewhere between Roscommon town and Moylough - I forget the name..............I came across a small garage with these for sale. I think. There was a phone no 087 2407530 on other cars for sale (Focus, etc...)

Brand name on the green coupe is Toyopet - very cute muscle-looking, in a miniature way................

    Ode To The Motorist

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

Are you sure? The Corona that I remember looked bigger and googling for a Corona image shows a V shaped centre for the grille.

    The brown one's a Cedric.

Both those cars were at the Mountbellew show last Sunday, the Cedric is a 2.2 diesel

Is that a real Shelby GT500 or just a standard Mustang Fastback with an 'Eleanor' bodykit?

Spotted an army green Mercedes G300 Diesel today at Harold's Cross Bridge, strange thing though is that it was on 06-MH plates. I know that the G500 & G55 AMG are still being built, but I thought the diesel G-Wagen's ceased production years ago.

It looks like a bog standard Capri to me with front spots and a Mk2 grille.

The G Wagen is still a current production model and in recent years, large numbers have been supplied to many different countries for military service.

yeah or maybe a 1800 Landcrab....:)

I may be wrong but I think those upright rear lights mean it's a 6 cylinder, therefore a 2200 ;)

    Seen on my drive today;

(MGB belongs to a friend, Austin is mine and Riley is my dads :) )

You're in the right ball park, but I think it's a Wolseley Six version. Austin/Morris models had different lights.

I used to have a Mk3 Austin 1800, cracking old bus! As it had the rare option of PAS, the owner before me fitted a 10" Mountney steering wheel and used to embarrass newer cars round the many roundabouts of his manor (Milton Keynes) :D

^ I remember seeing that Mini at the Moynalty show, I think I took a picture of it too.

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 25,584 Mod ✭✭✭✭Dades

I doubt the mini driver had much of a view behind the two in front!

Saw a TR7 convertible with the top down eastbound on the M4 around Enfield yesterday afternoon, only had a quick glimpse as I was heading west ;) but it appeared to be on original Irish plates. Dark browny gold in colour...
