Driving alongside this today up the quays towards Heuston Station. The pic doesn't do it justice as the camera was set up wrong and I was driving a (empty) coach at the time. For the record, it was a spotless British Racing Green.Took the pic while stopped at the lights for anyone about to have a rant. The badge on the back said V12.
Pity there's no sound with the pic, lovely.............

It looks like a later Cadillac Fleetwood or Chevrolet Caprice from the late70s to late 80s.

This little beauty was parked in Cobh today. Excellent condition inside and out, though not in original paint. Still, I wouldn't complain!

My Dad had one of them in the mid 80s, top speed 126 mph, 0-60 about 10 sec. It was still around a few years ago.

so good that no one would steal it, given that passenger door isnt closed properly.

well it used to have a Humber Pullman for company but it has since disappeared. This car appears not to have moved in a few years so it should have been put in the abandoned classics thread.

The owner died last year. He had some fantastic American cars over the years.

haha..i doubt it would have taken much to hotwire,id much prefer to find out the story behind the car though.
33 years on the road is a long time for one of those.

Cant be many original R12s left in the country now,i see irish vintage are doing a feature on one next month.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,901 ✭✭✭deckie27

on my fathers old R12 the key wasn't needed to unlock the doors the whole barrel would twist with out the key. the ignition was broke and he had a switched wired up to turn on the car.
These 2 features came in very handy when my Dad was out :D
