Thanks Rider, very impressive. Looks like the Bally B council has stopped the inner fighting and actually getting things done. I look forward to my next visit but feel i will hardly know the place anymore.

pic of the new (and complete!) sports centre on Kit Ahern road
    sta40708rt6.jpg

Which one is Kit Ahern road?

The 700 metre L6202 leads from the East End, Ballybunion and links to the Sandhill road and was officially opened by Kit Ahern on Friday evening.

The road across the street from Holly's Bar? (On your left as you face the barrack?)

    Of course there's interest!

You seem to know how to handle a camera. We usually don't get such artistic photos here, but we're glad to see them anyway.

    And welcome to the thread.

The pub formerly known as Tonys 19th (now called the Backstage Bar)

    The new(ish) Supervalue store

SuperValu is losing its letters fast. Only the "u" in Super was missing two months ago.

Which one is Kit Ahern road?

Kit Ahern road is the new(ish) name for the Ring Road or New Road. Coming in from Listowel / Tralee turn left just before the Garda station and that it. It then turns right and runs parallel to Main St (and behind the Golf hotel) and then joins Sandhill road near the library.

Wow, i would have never thought that Bubbles would give up the restaurant. I know that there was always talk of Chris expanding, i was living with the Hellards when they expanded out the back. I will have to drop them a line sometime. Must be quite a decent size pub now with all that space.
Yeah, the pub is a good size now. But it still has the smallest beer-garden in the world! ;-)
I will have to correct myself a bit. The pub did extend into the Strand restaurant in the last year, so the restaurant is gone. But the kitchens are still there, and there is food served in the bar. Not sure if Bubbles is running that. The Hellards boys & girls are running the bar now, and it seems to be a thriving place.

So sad to read on the Listowel thread of the untimely death of "Sandhill Road", such an enthusiastic and regular contributor here.
    May he rest in peace.

    Another drive though the village.

Down the Doon Road, along the Cliff Road, and up Main Street past the barrack as far as Kit Aherne Road
