And a firm "no" to any names with completely unnecessary consonants that are only there as an affectation since we revised Irish back in the fifties.

I once went out with someone who wanted to name her first three boy-childs "Nessan", "Sennan" and "Tiernan". Ignoring the notion that all three together sound like a circus act or an Irish teachers conference, I rather hope she's gone a little less loopy since she got married and presumably started thinking seriously about breeding.

I like it, I'm not a bogger and i shall give that name to my first son (if i have one)

I like Irish boys' namesm there are a good few around that aren't used too much. Very few girls' names are good in Irish. Siobhan, Ciara, Aoife...*shudder*, just say it to yourself in a Jobstown accent.

Eolan, maybe Sennan are nice names. There are plenty of horrible ones though - Conchur (ugh!), Breffni (suits you!) for example.
