Spent from 9:00 to 9:30 wasting my time on aloud.com then one click on seetickets.com after seeing it on the glasto forums and I had my tickets. Was slightly worried that it was so easy but it went through the same booking system so has to be legit, awaiting emails confirmation now! Happy Days...........

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,269 ✭✭✭p.pete

seetickets and aloud are basicly the same people, so don't worry about it :)

I apparently had mine within three minutes, but I'm still going to complain: The ordering system was crap again this year. They used IMAGES on the front page for critical links, which is a ridiculous idea on a site that's GOING to be slashdotted. Then they took users to another site, which redirected to a third, and finally linked back to the second, which is TOTALLY not appropriate for an eCommerce setup. And then they thank you for your order but don't give you your confirmation number, DESPITE the fact that they specifically said the confirmation system would be improved this year. Eavis should stop dealing with these incompetent ASSHOLES, they're about as far from the Glastonbury ethos as you could get.

All that being said, if my tickets are actually confirmed this'll be my third Glastonbury in nearly a decade, my first with my son! Can't bloody wait! Just PLEASE, no rain this year. Pissed down my first time the whole time, and although it was still fun I've been to a sunny one now so I'm spoiled...

adam /digs out his wellies just in case

aye wouldnt fancy rain myself, not a big fan of muck, or coldness

I'm going to complain too - it was too easy and now I'm on edge :o

efestivals.com seems to be overloaded at the moment :) before it crashed though there seemed to be a lot of people saying they got tickets no problems - I wonder is there less demand or has there been a fook up?

Its a shame they can't post out the international tickets, having to get to Shepton Mallet to collect the tickets is a right pain, surely they should have a pick-up closer to the site entrance.

aye seems like a pain, there will probably be huge queues, when are people planning on going over, i'm aiming to be there from wednesday on, may as well get value for money! give me two days to soak up the atmosphere ;) before the gig starts proper too,

and dahamsta got it spot on, images on the main page is absolutely ridiculous they should have been trying to conserve as much bandwith as possible, that said once me and my friends confirmation email comes in, i won't give a ****!

tis unusual so many people have gotten through though, surely demand cant be low, especiall with the fallow year next year, (roll on the email and ease my mind!)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,609 ✭✭✭comet

Regarding ease of getting tickets i suppose all the tightening of control, photo id, debit cards etc. has worked in getting rid of touts. I think 2 tickets per person is fair in these kind of circumstances, unlike the Irish U2 gigs where 6 tickets were permitted, now that was an absolute disgrace and a touts christmas all at once.
I won't be heading over until Thursday by which time it will all be getting very busy i'm sure, traffic, queues aghhh!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 121 ✭✭bandy

We all got tickets too (13!!) ... compared to last year this was easy peasy...

Shepton Mallet is not too bad...we got a rtn taxi to the airport for about £20 a head ... which stopped off and waited in SM and picked up what was left of us on Monday. Also useful to pick up some supplies etc

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,269 ✭✭✭p.pete

I thought the demand would be huge with Chas and Dave playing, Kylie too :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,269 ✭✭✭p.pete

LOL at the message currently on the efestivals forum page:
    THE FORUMS ARE OFFLINE.
Someone is attacking the server with a denial of service attack - he's obviously a very sad git.

    Apologies for the inconvenience

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,067 ✭✭✭youcancallmeal

    Glastonbury 2005 is sold out!!!
There are a few tics left on the phones but essentially they sold over a hundred thousand tickets in under two hours.

    Did the exact same thing....

    Oh the relief....

I had a heart attack when I was submitting my details... the pages wasn't loading....

then I realised that in my sleepen state I didn't press the submit button....

    :D

that shepton mallet thing is a lil crap alright.... we're flying into bristol on the tuesday and making a week's holiday of it.... Bristol is fairly close to shepton mallet though so that should be cool :)

anyone know any nice way of getting out to there though... is there a train station etc.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 240 ✭✭humbleCounty

i had heard there were busses, but dont know, think there are definitely busses from shepton mallet (what a name!)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 121 ✭✭bandy

there are no direct public buses to Shepton Mallet from the airport. U can get an airlink type bus from the airport to bristol center but i think you have to get the regular service bus to SM as i dont think the offical festie buses from bristol stop there. So there lies the problem with public transport.

Last year there was a festival service from SM to the site but I heard this was sketchy enough

If there is a few of ya club to gether and get a minibus/ taxi - it solves alll the crap and is apporximately the same price per person if you book ahead

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 240 ✭✭humbleCounty

got my confirmation email there, now i can rest easy,

    high five to the lord!

    Completely sold out now.
Its been 4 hours now and no sign of my confirmation email :(

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 121 ✭✭bandy

    Per the efestivals msg board

"i just phoned aloud on the phone number that was given and they said that they are working in batches and have just started working the orders out. They said it could take as much as the end of the day before everyone has their emails"

Eases this waiting game a little bit

Happy days, dont even know who is playing and dont really care to be honest.

But if one or two of the rumours from this list are playing, then i will be a happy man.

Not so lucky - wish I had looked on here yesterday. Spent the morning pressing redial on the phone. Aload website just gave broken links to all gigs. I was convinced it was an Eircom problem.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 16,659 ✭✭✭✭dahamsta

It seems that the website handled the first 10-15 mins fine, but after that it was very hit and miss.

I overslept and didn't try the site until 9:25 unfortunately. I know some people who booked several times over getting multiple confirmations later. There must be a lot of tickets that have to be cancelled. I don't suppose there will be enough to go on open sale.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 240 ✭✭humbleCounty

they had a second sale last year sometime towards the end of may, so i'd keep an eye out for that, its a pity for the people who submitted multiple times, does that mean they wont get any tickets?
