First hard luck to BlitzKrieg who was eliminated in Round 1, and congratulations to powerhousedan who is immune in this round.

Earlier today the users who were previously placed on the reseve list, AlcoholicA, Gordon, Ro: maaan!, were (physically) put into a hat and one was picked out - that turned out to be Ro: maaan!.

So now Ro: maaan!, is part of the "equation".

The 2nd Immunity Challenge will follow in the next post.

Your 2nd immunity challenge is more challenging and more difficult than the first.

Using the tools available to you through what is known as "The Internet", you must decode a message that will be PM'd to you.

The same message will be PM'd to each of the contestants - you will have until the close of voting for round 2 to complete the challenge. The first contestant to post the decoded message to the round 2 thread will gain immunity from the next round (round 3).

Due to the difficulty in solving this problem here's a hint that may help:
Two encryption methods were applied to the message in this order:

Methods A -> Method B -> Method A

Both methods are widely know on the internet as simple encryption schemes.

The Message™ is a simple text string.

It appears Sysiphus couldn't take the heat and has dropped out.

I'll ask him a mod to remove him from the vote. In light of this event, AlcoholicA and Gordon, who were the two remaining contestants on the reserve list are now included - however because they are being added after voting began they will not be added to the elimination vote but can still attempt Immunity Challenge #2 to get immunity from round 3 evictions.

Also, Mr.Nice Guy - I still can't PM you the immunity challenges so if you want to take part in them let me know how to get it to you, or re-enable PMs.

There would be more interest if the people were known though, that way people wouldnt be picking randomly.

I had originally decided to use the top ten posters that weren't admins or AH mods, but I didn't think was fair on them as they may not want to be included. So instead I went with the first 10 users who replied wanting to take part.

All suggestions on how to pick more well-known contestants for future competitions are welcome.

i thought that was part of the interesting thing about this game. we are all relative new comers to boards and so people dont have any preconceived notions about us. You dont usually know any of the people on the actual reality programs either do ya?

Well the mods version would be a once - kinda like a celebrity version.
What would be a fair way of getting well-known users to take part?

COmmentary on round 2: Yes it does seem that tovelee might in simply because he is on the bottom of every list. But Hugh Hefner doesnt seem to be popular at all...in both rounds he was in 2nd place to be kicked out. GET YOUR BUNNIES OUT!

I voted for Hugh Hefner again. Again, for no particular reason. Well actually, he's the only person I've seen post before that I can remember, and if I recall correctly the post irritated me. It might not have though. I can't remember.

If this works out well I'd suggest asking for a forum to be set up for it on feedback and maybe asking for an advert calling for contestants.

Also on the first post on every round put links to all the previous rounds.

No, haven't made any progress. I don't know anything past basic cryptography but I thought some of the clues were curious. I've given up.

I think people who are interested should be the ones picked. I'm ill at ease with the idea of "celebrity" posters... there are just people with more time on their hands and bigger mouths

That said I can see why it might make it more interesting to read if you picked a few of the resident wags and loudmouths
