    Found this yesterday;

    To celebrate 2010 as International Year of Biodiversity, the Heritage Council is inviting you to take part in the National Heritage Week Wild Child Photo Competition. To enter all you need to do is submit an image(s) that you think captures the spirit/idea of biodiversity and provide a brief caption with your pic explaining your thinking behind it. Photos should be of habitats / wildlife and include people (in some way shape or form). Most of all we want images that convey the co-existence of species and/or the variety of life on earth (biodiversity).

    There are lots of prizes up for grabs for all age groups but we think the best prize of all will be the enjoyment and experience of getting up close and personal with wildlife and nature. Whether it’s in your back garden or further afield, it’s up to you.

    The deadline for entry is Friday 10th September

    Eanna Ní Lamhna (RTE Mooney Show Contributor and Wildlife Expert) will lead the judging the panel.

    Winners will be announced on the 20th of September.

    To enter the competition and for info on prizes go to www.pix.ie/go/heritageweek

    Hi everyone,

    Just posting a link to a photo competition being run by EIL Ireland, a non-profit organisation which provides intercultural learning opportunities through study abroad, volunteer abroad, language training, travel awards, group educational programmes, and other cultural immersion activities.

    http://www.eilireland.org/development-education/photo-competition

    The winner of the competition will take part in a professional workshop with photographer Edmund Ross (including work shadowing and portrait photo) while also getting their winning photograph published in the Irish Times.

    Best of luck with your entries!

    Postponed until next Saturday - A really large entry apparently (they ran an ad in the paper explaining which I also missed!) - good luck in it. Really looking forward to seeing what standard comes through.
