Scotch Foursome Ruling

Looking for clarify on the following in Strokeplay

Scotch foursome - both players tee off and alternate shots on best ball until holds out.

So Player A ends up putting and leaves a tap in. Player B needs to tap it in but Player A taps it in. So what's the penalty. can't seem to find a reference to it anywhere

Technically Scotch Foursomes isn't covered by the Rules of Golf and the rules should be set by the committee. However once a ball is in play off the tee then it is safe to assume that the rules for Foursomes are followed.

The tap-in from Player A would not count. The ball would need to be replaced and then played by Player B. A 2 shot penalty would apply.

If it happened in Matchplay then it would have been loss of hole.

I know one likes to win but if it was a tap in and wrong player tapped it in I would have an issue if my partner looked to gain a hole by it.

But then again people are strange, life long friendships can be made..or broken..by what happens on a golf course.

I'd be the same, if I lose a hole, I just move on the next. I've no time for taking advantage of the minuscule technicalities.
