I've been saying this for years if you are a moderator or a CMod who oversees Disputes but is actively involved in the threads and has a very closed view then they should really step away from their mod/CMod position. I had to laugh when I saw headshots DPR thread when I saw who it was assigned to he had no chance!

Imagine if the shoe was on the other foot GGirl or Chewy had Mister Anarchy Null Zero or Headshot as cmods reviewing their bans even though they were active on the same threads bet you they wouldnt be to happy.

Finally I would say that posting a big slag off as a high up CMod on one of the main rivals to boards finishing his rant with "I'm surprised it lasted this long honestly" should suggest they want this site to fail and have little interest in it surviving and probably pushed for the subject of this thread, light touch moderation to come to an end and revert back to the normal hard-line approach.

If anyone fvcks around enough they'll get a ban.

Over the course of the last few years I've seen some really poor behaviour from some very left leaning users that takes a verrrrrryyy long time to be sanctioned.

If someone else were to attempt those types of things they'd be banned before they finished typing their post. Which is kind of what you want in a functioning forum.

I don't want to see people I disagree with getting punished and people I do agree with getting to act like ar5es without recourse.

Once someone starts getting snarky or is generally being a dick they should be told to cool it. Too much is allowed in terms of low level cvntishness on this site. That's what breeds all the problems.

People have no respect for each other, once someone says something you don't like it's almost customary to issue a fatwah against them and all subsequent generations of their families on boards.

I've been openly abused by people in CA, reported them and nothing is done then end up getting a ban for replying to them. That's why I started using the ignore function because I want to have a conversation when I'm here, not a circular argument and when the people winding you up can do so with impunity you're better off not engaging with them.

I'd much prefer to have nobody on ignore but it was proving to be impossible to use the site without it.

Some people unfortunately just aren't worth the effort of listening to, and that's a conclusion it takes me a reasonable amount of time to reach. If I'm ignoring someone they've probably been an absolute dick to me on multiple occasions.

Even lab rats in mazes learn not to get electrocuted after a couple of shocks. It's not unreasonable to avoid stupid situations.

I would not get into that in the first place snake . Never agreed with those DRP threads bar the odd mistaken banning which was reversed .

Not saying that I haven't been in trouble, I have, but I argue my case in pm , at length of I am allowed , and at last take my punishment on the chin .

To post on a site and not accept moderation for good or bad , is just immature . Other sites just ban people.

We all know what we are signing up to here . At some stage if you don't follow the rules it's coming for you , like it or not , and whinging incessantly about how the rules should not apply to you over and over for some posters , is tedious for everyone not just the mods who have to try to be fair .

Feedback is good though as long as it isn't abusive . Again I have had my moments too there .

I thought moderation is this thread's target , not individual mods .

I knew from the start I didn’t have a chance. In fact, in a previous DPR I even PM’d a CMOD asking if I had a choice in who reviewed my ban, because I specifically wanted Ten of Swords and not a particular CMOD who, in my view, should not be involved in disputes at all.

This same CMOD barely looks at disputes properly and simply lets their prejudice against certain posters decide the outcome. There’s no real “review” happening, when mods want a poster gone, the CMODs and admins don’t waste their time and just rubber stamp the decision. It’s a sham, nothing more than a glorified kangaroo court.

Yes indeed circular arguments , calling others names , ignoring others who argue back and only listening or entertaining posters who share their narrative...oh and getting subjects that reflect poorly on anti immigration views removed from The Immigration Thread while still arguing that the mods are biased !

They are intertwined in fairness, you can't discuss moderation without discussing individual moderators. And it doesn't seem to be all moderators, just a small few who are not neutral, or at least trying to be neutral. If it was the other way around, and they were right wing lunatics, then you might find it more difficult to dismiss a discussion in which so many people agree.

I'd say this feedback thread will be locked if posters continue to attack and insult other mods and posters directly.

Doesnt seem to be much point to these threads if the same small number of posters come in the to repeat the same claims ad nauseum.
