I think for a moment we should take some time to reflect on the sad plight of the Liveline production team. That brazen hussy Sarah has burned through at least a months worth of subjects of livelines past in a mere two days! I feel their pain. A moments silence is called for!

hahaha , that yearly course, the CPC, is some joke. Had Polish drivers do it, with very little english, and pass it. Another lad was catching up on the courses, and did 2 courses in 2 days, but did the same one twice without realising he was listening to the same thing as the day before

Yes I like the random topics, like Liveline of old, a few calls on missing BMW keys left in taxis could be incoming. 😂.

I wonder how are the calls filtered through to Sarah, she seems to be having input in to what to discuss with live calls just coming through today and not "you called me" merchants lined up for a week.

Joe covered this a few years ago. Lorry drivers know more than instructors if I remember right.

It is a sh!tty situation to be in, I couldn't imagine having to worry about who'd look after my children when I passed. It'd be the equivalent of finding out you have something terminal while being the parent of babies or toddlers.

Personally I think it's disgusting that adults with special needs are left to languish in nursing homes after parents pass, rather than there being some sort of community housing for those that are capable of living somewhat independently.

Was confused as to why Sarah was so scandalised by the concept of a gluten free diet until I realised they were talking about a dog.

I wasn’t above to listen trust but it sounds like Sarah has the right idea. Liveline needs a lovely mix of topics on each show. You have to, of course, tackle the heavier stuff but it should be balanced with s as t least a few minutes on some light frothy nonsense. I get the feeling she’s doing homework and coming in with a list of potential topics while the team are pitching a as free as well. The side send to be keeping moving. A far cry from Green bogged down for 3 who’s it note on stuff like the menopause and handsy teachers. I hope she lands the gig at this rate.

Yeah, Sarah appears to be streets ahead of the other three utter bores. The subjects are mostly all the same regurgitated garbage though, I guess that's the show now (€750m)

But that's just me and just going off my first listen to her on LL.

Will be skipping his weeks anyway. He is brutal on drive time. His interview with oleary on the Metro was pathetic, whether you agree with him or not. It was really poor behaviour for a radio host imo.

But seems to be the way with many rte hosts recently. The standard has really slipped towards a newstalk style and it's terrible imo. Justin mccarthys interview of one of the freemason's recently on this week on Sundays was also disgraceful imo. No fan of McGregor or the freemason's but the interview was shocking to listen to imo.

Sounds like you are describing the great Joe Duffy.

Tbh, I think she's kinda wasted on LL. She's livelier than the others for sure, but I don't think it's the right "fit" - I think she's a current affairs presenter really.

I'm probably going to get pilloried for this, but it shows to me that Joe did have something. Now, absolutely not the latter day Joe of the last 2-3 years, who was just phoning it in - when he bothered to show up - and who got increasingly ego-maniacal towards the end, but in his pomp, he was a good host IMO, in his own peculiar way.

You need someone who is a bit of stirrer, who likes to get them arguing with each other on air. That's what LL represents to me. Two, or more, opinionated idiots tearing strips of each other. That's radio bliss as far as I'm concerned.

Cormac, on paper, might do okay. He likes a good fight and he comes across as a bit dim a lot of the time. But, I think he's just a tad too obnoxious and strident. I can't take listening him for all that long.

I hear you but I’m not sure I’d agree. I think if you have two people going at each other you’re only going to attract a certain tour of caller to that. You know yourself if you actually do know what you’re talking about in a subject there is nothing more frustrating than having to deal with the lad who knows very little but is convinced he knows it all. If anything Sarah is redirecting the kind of show where actual facts get discussed and if you’re a waffler, she’s going to challenge you. I don’t remember the Marion Finnucane LL days. I was old enough to listen but I was a younger person so talk radio was boring as far as I was concerned. I think though she tackled issues if the day and gave the housewives and others who wouldn’t normally get heard a voice. Joe destroyed that. You’re heading into Chris Barry/Adrian Kennedy territory if you let the idiots task unrestricted on air. Not knocking Adrian or Chrys. I don’t really like what they do but I have to respect them for being very good at it all the same. I’d agree Sarah isn’t exactly the guy for LL but agree great so far so I hope she she’s week with it.

Column was giving out the Liveline WhatsApp number earlier today until he remembered he was presenting a different show this week 🤣.

Just got to listen to it now. She's got potential alright. Good mix of topics and a bit of empathy with the callers.

Was anyone else confused when she said the seagull is back in disguise? I was getting images of a robin or a sparrow catching fish and robbing people's ice cream until it clicked with me that she was saying "the skies" 🤣.
