    Officially 0.2, another wet day.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 7,037 ✭✭✭appledrop

It was a wet day yesterday, sure I got caught in rain shower in park here in North County Dublin!

And so it continues 0 dry days for summer.

It says 0.1mm on Met Eireann website. Does that not count as dry in the contest? We need straws to clutch at here.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 766 ✭✭✭Tae laidir

They seem to have amended it from 0.2 to 0.1.

    Our first dry day.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 7,037 ✭✭✭appledrop

Yes it was definitely 0.2mm earlier on when I looked aswell.

8th 0.1 mm counts as dry so now at 1/8 … and noting a MIN of 3.5 at Mullingar (also 8th).

Check daily summaries but hourly obs for Dublin indicate measurable rainfalls both before and after midnight taking 9th and 10th (yesterday and today) out of the dry range, even if both days will probably seem generally dry. Hourly amounts were not very large but well above 0.1 mm.

We had a god bit of rain yesterday evening in NCD so in end we did end up with 1.3mm for 9th.

Hmm I'm still not convinced about Sunday been a dry day, what about that shower myself and other parents got soaked in playground😁 and it wasn't the only shower on Sunday!

On another note both Athenry and Finner have already passed their June MONTHLY totals but don't think either count in contest. More will surely follow by Sunday.

    Dry yesterday so 2/11 days.

Hmm I wonder will today count as a dry day😉

    MAX 22.4 (Finner) 11th.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 7,037 ✭✭✭appledrop

Another fail for a dry day yesterday with 0.6mm, despite Met Eireann saying it would be dry.

So we are now at 2/14 days.

This morning in Dublin is even worse than Thursday. When will summer actually start!

7/20 now, unreal looking at all those Max's across the country yesterday, except poor auld Cork.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,178 ✭✭✭✭M.T. Cranium

As to MAX the last version I saw was back to 29.6, but it will probably be a minimum progression scoring situation anyway so it's not going to matter … I will look into it at end of month again. If it doesn't get hotter next time around (which seems unlikely).

Joe Public at 31.9 and waterways at 28.0 were our two highest forecasts. There are a few between 27.5 and 27.7 also. These will all score well in minimum progression but, not sure if I've seen one like this before, raw scores on either side of an actual were both very low (at 29.6 it's 4 points for 28.0 and zero for 31.9).

Will have the third week update later on, some time after mid-day depending on when I remember to do it. The IMT was up to 14.3 after 20 days and with a projected rise for Saturday 21st, will likely be 14.5 on next report.

    MIN _ 3.5

PRC _ 136% of normal _ third week average 19%

SUN _ 107.5% of normal _ third week average 151%

    dry days _ 8/21 (also now 8/22)

    9/23 days now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,178 ✭✭✭✭M.T. Cranium

9/24 is certain as 24th had measurable rain, 9 or 10 of 25 depending on how they assess very late rainfall in 24h climate day Wednesday (as I mentioned it runs 00z to 00z which is 0100h to 0100h). I see 0.3 mm fell in that last hour. It may end up being a trade-off with 26th depending on how much more rain might fall during the day. Will see how this looks after 0800h.

    Yes, it's 9/25, as 0.5 for yesterday.

Possibility of another small amount before midnight tonight.
