Yeah…. I got that twice. I give up!

So frustrating, took funds from my Revolute immediately and some 10hrs later got a text message that my order didn't meet their variable criteria and order was cancelled. No refund of funds yet.

That's 2 pending and one withdrawal now and still no phone. Will try once more with the wife's details but that'll have to be it. Ridiculous process from an international telecoms company.

Tried with wife's details and says payment was unsuccessful despite them taking the funds from her Revolut account. Didn't even get an order number, couldn't make it up.

It does sound like going into a shop is the the way to go. Does anyone know if there's a publicised deadline for this offer? Like is it linked to Black Friday etc. Or is it just til stocks last?

I went through the process of getting a 48 SIM porting the number over and ordering the handset. I have now been sent an email of a contract saying I am on red roaming pay as you go and need to top up by 20 euro every 4 weeks. Have I made a mistake when ordering and gotten myself locked into a contract or do I just get rid of the 48 SIM and put in my actual SIM card and use the phone without any issues or need to pay Vodafone a monthly fee ..

When you get the phone throw away the 48 sim and just use your actual sim. You're not in contract with Vodafone.

Indeed. The "contract letter" is just indicating you need to top up by €20 a month to be eligible for the benefits (free minutes, data etc) associated with the plan provided by Vodafone. Since you're not using the SIM and plan provided, you can just ignore.

Just picked the phone up in store. Guy was telling me that they are routinely stopping Tesco and 48 numbers online due to overuse.

Had to top up €20 but it's worth it to get the phone.

Anyone who wants a Vodafone sim and €20 credit drop me a PM and they can have it for free.

Mobile networks cannot lock phones to their network for the last few years.

Just got one instore. Sign on the wall said the offer is valid until the 6th of January.

You should have full recourse then to ask them to network unlock the phone, regardless of how long you have the handset.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,049 ✭✭✭NotShero

You have to have topped up by a certain amount for them to unlock It. This doesn't apply to the Pixel, they are network unlocked regardless.

did the same but only used a different email address, got the phone within a couple of days

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,112 ✭✭✭✭mfceiling

Think it's a voucher code. Sent it on to a poster who PM'd me shortly after I posted.

How long between emails re despatch and order ?

I have not got a dreaded cancel sms in 10 mins so feeling hopeful

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 432 ✭✭bohsfan

Some of us didn't get dispatch emails at all. Use the order number in the initial Vodafone email to track on the DPD website and you'll see if it's on the way

Are the 3/48 SIM cards in Dealz free?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,503 ✭✭✭positron

48 Sims are a euro each. Luca €1.50. Not sure about 3.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,554 ✭✭✭fergiesfolly

I ordered the 48 sim online and got it free. I also didn't pay anything upon activation. I switched to Vodafone and ordered the Pixel straight away and once the the sim was switched, I removed the sim from my phone and put it aside in case I needed it. I'd say it was only active as a 48 number for less than 20 minutes. Phone arrived and I put in my regular sim card and binned the 48 sim. Job done

    If I haven't already thanked the OP...Thanks a million. The phone is a beaut and for €200 it's a steal ( possibly literally )😄
