None of that matters when the system rejects the IMEI as not valid for a trade in because they then cannot download the app to test the phone. As the Monopoly Man says: "Do Not Pass Go Do Not collect €200" They can't explain why the web check approves the phone.

A cynic might say so it gets you into the store…

Did anyone get the validation text using the online option? I've tried different sims in my phone but the validation code text never arrives. But if I create an order for a phone without a trade in, the validation text for that transaction to the same numbers arrives licketty split!

Can existing Vodafone customers avail of this offer? If they do that would be great, I can just send my sister in to get the offer. I found a Pixel 3a in the drawer last night, slight crack on the screen but it's working.

Not sure they'll take the Pixel 3a though.

It says no on the website. I have one with a smashed screen so I'd love to offload it for a €200 discount!

Found a **** Samsung a14 in the folks and brought it in. Got 210 total off.

Mentioned the phone could be locked to Vodafone, but more as an ass cover I reckon.

No hard sell on a sim of any kind.

This was in blanch. Got a delivery today and a further delivery Wednesday. Black only today. Might have other colours during the week.

Good deal, even better considering I got 400 back from Google last week on a dodgy 7a.

Me too, they seem to take the 3a and the 6a. They won't take the 7a due to the recall. I think someone had issues with trading in the 4a but could be wrong

I traded in the 4a, and they put it through on the receipt as a 3a.

    There are two versions -

    1. Pixel 4a
    2. Pixel 4a 5G

The 4a 5G is definitely accepted, the other not so sure.

Mine was the standard 4a (non 5g) version which was put through and accepted rightly or wrongly as a 3a.

Just got a black one in Blanchardstown, got 15 euro for an old Google Pixel 4a. Never said anything about buying Vodafone SIM or top up. Thanks whichever poster highlighted this 😉

Was in Vod Grafton St last Sun but no Pixel 9a stock and then in their Blanch branch on Thurs evening and again no stock. The guy there was helpful however and said the Google rep was into them during the week and they were expecting a delivery of 4-5 units yest around noon. No issues in taking my 3a either he confirmed but he wouldn't reserve or put one aside and said it was first come first served which is fair enough if it's a consistent policy. Eventually got through to them on the phone yesterday evening to confirm they had 3 in stock so off I went.

My 3a was in perfect condition barring the battery that was loosing 20% per hour in standby so got €16 for that after they run the few tests on screen, cameras and flashlight and the new phone for €184 all in (I'm already a Vod customer).

One issue however is that since the 3a was my active phone I was looking to update that to the 9a there and then before the factory reset to be told they have an "engineer" who can do that but charges €30 and you have to be there during his work hours. Ridiculous so just wiped the old phone and went. Bit of trouble at home trying to log into Google with the two step authentication as it kept trying to send codes to my old 3a which I no longer had and sending a code via SMS wasn't available as the other options were more "secure".

Eventually was able to log out of the 3a via my Google account on a laptop and then activate the SMS option so word to any prospective buyers, ensure you log out of Google etc before doing the factory reset if trading in your active phone. I loose all my old WhatsApp and SMS messages and history as I don't back them up in Google but otherwise all the Playstore apps I had previously installed are renewed so not too bad of a transition.
