Not familiar with the model but I disappeared up my own jacksy couple years ago with water pumps etc when the fault was a €15 thermostat.

yeah, when it started giving trouble i looked at a lot of info, sorted from cheapest to dearest and worked through them. Thermostat was among the first but no difference.

If you have already changed the thermostat, to me it looks like your water pump is not working correctly, or at all. I had the same issue with my skoda superb nearly two years ago. The temperature suddenly jumped, thankfully I was within 20 miles of home so I was able to limp it home. The fan didn't blow any hot air either. I was hoping it was a thermostat, but it was the water pump that had failed. It wasn't due a timing belt at the time either.

As a former Insignia owner (2009 reg), I found them a very comfortable car to drive, but very unreliable. I bought mine second hand from a local dealer in 2014, it was a UK import with around 75k genuine miles on the clock. Thankfully I got a 1 year warranty as the engine dropped a valve, and the gearbox has to be rebuilt under warranty.
