8:30pm, Shannon airport 16°c and Dublin airport only 6°c. Quite a difference

Similar trains of thought - I took a photo of it just after the sun set.

Castlederg in Northern Ireland was the warmest spot in the UK for Wednesday but was it the warmest on the island of Ireland? Does anyone know

We've also been enjoying good weather here in southeast Spain, which is nice because I saw that March was exceptionally wet here and Ireland really needed to catch a break from the gloom of 2024/February 2025. The weather has broken down here today though, so you're doing better than us. It's cloudy here and there's a yellow wind warning/orange marine warning for a storm, so not ideal. We did get away with it though because the weather was meant to break down two days ago but the last two days actually ended up being the hottest and sunniest days so far despite the forecasts for cloudy/damp weather, with yesterday approaching 26°C. I put some pictures from Monday to today.

Unbelievable morning in Dublin. Mist and haze creating wonderful scenes.

The weather has been unbelievable but it's quite cold in Dublin in morning and evenings and we are not getting the weather as warm as West max of 15 or 16 degrees but today is looking like a good one and very little breeze😎

Comparison is the thief of joy as they say.

Over 100 hours of sun in the East already this month, barely a drop of rain, and temps slightly above average.

This comes on the back of a sunnier and much drier than average March.

You can't ask for much more in Ireland in spring.

Have to admit this first half to Spring 2025 has been stunning and the first properly enjoyable season we have had since 2022 or 2023. I just hope we see a repeat of these high pressures with gentle south-easterly winds over the course of the summer.

Today is easily the best day so far of this fine spell in Dublin. Calm with no nagging breeze. Feels like a very warm summers day.

Nights and mornings still cold though which means warm jacket required. And then afternoon hits and you feel silly with a jacket 😅

Great day again in kerry and I don't think I saw a cloud in the sky today. Getting up to a very decent 18.8C at my site after a low of 2.2C. Another day of low humidity

Ireland standing out well in the Satellite Pic today .

Oh today was absolutely stunning for Dublin.

The spring really has been unbelievable, so much sunshine and practically no rain.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,482 ✭✭✭DellyBelly

February wasn't great but March and April have really savaged this Spring....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,327 ✭✭✭✭Cluedo Monopoly

Third of the way through April and several stations showing 0.0mm rainfall.

It's a bit freaky waking up to wall to wall sunshine day after day.

Valentia mean temperature is 3.7C above average (9.5C) already.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 636 ✭✭✭Robwindstorm

Sryan probably would have these stats. In Meath we've had at least 4 consecutive night frosts of about 0c. While us on the east coast had lower temperatures than the west in this glorious spell, we reached the magic 20c yesterday. I'm wondering what's the record temperature drop in Ireland within a 12hr period. Between 4pm yesterday and 4am this morning the drop must have been around 20c which is a massive swing?

Another fantastic morning here in Dublin with blue skies and warm sunshine. It's 16 degrees now according to my laptop, which I think has been the warmest morning here so far. This is good for the soul
