Out to +120hrs models showing dominant HP, Temperatures in the mid teens for a lot of the country, best in the SW /W where it looks to get up to around 17C or so in places at times. Variable light Anticyclonic winds giving cool onshore winds making it that bit cooler along NE, E , SE and sometimes S coasts, very low if any rainfall predicted. Cool nights under those clear skies.

Parts of Ireland will see their first rainfall since late April from Sunday afternoon to Tuesday morning before largely settled conditions return for the remainder of next week.

A depression over the Bay of Biscay will track towards Ireland’s south coast later this weekend to bring scattered, thundery showers merging into longer spells of rain at times.

Parts of East Ulster may remain completely dry during the period, with rainfall totals of 10-25mm possible elsewhere.

The dry, warm, and sunny conditions will continue through Sunday afternoon, with temperatures ranging from 15 to 20°C.

Temperatures will range from the mid to high teens once again next week as dry and sunny conditions return from Tuesday, with just some isolated showers.

The coming week and the start of the following week will be predominantly dry, with temperatures reaching the low 20s°C, except in exposed coastal areas of the east and southeast.

Many parts of Ireland are set to stay completely dry over the next 10 days, with any rainfall mostly occurring between today and Tuesday afternoon.

Showery conditions will persist across Leinster and Ulster from Sunday evening into Monday morning, followed by isolated showers on Monday that will clear by evening.

On Tuesday, scattered—possibly thundery—showers may develop over Munster but will fade by afternoon. The rest of the week and the early days of the following week will stay dry.

Winds will remain light and easterly throughout the forecast period.

A change is likely by day 10.

    Gfs.gif

The warm plume over The Benelux today will gradually shift westward over Ireland and Britain next week as winds shift easterly. Somewhere in Ireland will record a temperature in the mid 20s.

Temperatures across Ireland will remain warm, ranging from the high teens to mid-20s, through at least the middle of next week.

Aside from some scattered, possibly thundery showers expected this evening in North Munster and South Connacht, conditions will be largely dry and settled throughout the coming week and into early next week.

Sunshine levels will be well above normal—more than double the average for this time of year. Western parts of the country may even challenge the year’s highest temperature so far: 25.9°C, recorded in Athenry, Galway, last month.

Daytime highs will generally reach around 19°C in the east, climbing to 24°C or higher in the west. Overnight temperatures will remain mild, with no risk of frost.

The settled conditions are being driven by persistent high pressure over or near Ireland, which has brought an exceptionally dry start to May. This high pressure system is expected to dominate until at least mid-week next week.

However, weather models are indicating that high pressure may begin to weaken towards the end of the forecast period, allowing Atlantic systems to approach. This could bring some rain in the second half of next week, with temperatures slipping back into the mid to high teens.

Forecast data from the Global Forecast System (GFS) covering the next 16 days up to 29 May continues to support the outlook for below-average rainfall overall. However, it also points to an increased chance of showers or more prolonged rain later in the period.

The GFS ensemble model, which runs 32 variations to account for forecast uncertainties, suggests a gradual decline in temperatures after mid-week next week. Data from a Midlands sample location shows high pressure influence weakening around day 10 of the forecast.

Some very warm days coming up and starting to see warm nights too with temps slow to get down in the evenings and in parts only getting down to the mid teens briefly. Time to get the fans down from the attic methinks.

Very little rainfall for the southeast up to Monday afternoon. Atlantic coastal counties will see the highest rainfall amounts.

Parts of the South and Southeast will enjoy drier weather up to and including Bank Holiday Monday. Rainfall totals here will be less than 5mm over the next five days, while amounts will be highest in the West and North. Temperatures will reach 20°C in parts of East Munster and South Leinster on Thursday and Friday, but will drop to the mid-teens everywhere over the weekend.

Scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle are sweeping across Ireland. Southern and southeastern coastal areas will remain largely dry throughout, while smaller totals are also expected along the east coast. Top temperatures today of 16 to 19c, warmest in Leinster and East Munster. Winds will generally be moderate southwesterly away from the west and north where fresh winds will persist until evening. In Irish meteorological terms, much of Ireland is in for a 'dirty day'.

Tuesday looks like bringing a spell of strong winds and heavy rain. The exact track and depth of the Atlantic low has yet to be determined, but it looks like its centre will be to the north of Ireland.

As said by others over in the summer thread some strong winds showing up around Atlantic coastal counties, windy/ blustery overland for most for a time especially later Monday and accompanied by moderate to heavy frontal rain ( after a fairly dry first half of the day at least ), again quite windy Tues especially the Northern half of the country with showers, unsettled into the early days of next week. Temps a bit lower than recent days and the nights getting a tad cool.
