I was thinking the same. I wouldn't be the biggest fan of either, but I only know one song by Disturbed - the cover of Sound of Silence. At least for Megadeth, I'd know anything of Countdown to Extinction, Peace sells and Rust in Peace.

I remember many years ago I was going to buy Youthanasia (album after Countdown). But I gave it a miss. And completely forgot about them then. Must get back into them again.

Im kinda torn as would love to see them live but my issue is with draiman's Zionism stuff.

Saw them with Avenged Seven Fold in the Three few years back and thought they were really poor so will be giving this a miss.

Also just reading over on Reddit there that the Disturbed lead singer singed Israeli artillery destined for Palestinian civilians.

I wonder will the Irish crowd give him stick for the pro-Israel stuff he puts out there on his social media.

Was at the Megadeth/Lamb Of God co-headline nearly a decade ago now 😲

They were good, but Dave's vocals were very low, he's the only one left in the line up from that night, don't know much about Disturbed, not really interested in this either, was hoping to see Megadeth again, probably won't go to this.

Whether you agree or disagree with his politics, I believe some of his friends were actually at the Nova massacre and it impacted him directly. So I'd be cutting him a bit of slack tbh, stuff like that can really warp people's perception.

I'm actually rather surprised to see they have Ireland on their tour given the general political feel here to the situation and how outspoken hes been on stage about it.

Hope he doesn't use it at some sort of soapbox, I can't imagine that going down well!

Nice lineup and also nice it's after the Summer

Finally get to complete the big 4 even though I'm not the biggest Megadeth fan

Saw Disturbed 8 years back (can't believe it's that long ago) supporting Avenged Sevenfold. If only it was 'Believe' in full but can't complain as 'The Sickness' is still a great album

Artist presale tomorrow, can sign up on there website til 10pm tonight

A man can dream and would weep like a baby if they play this before SOS

Considering going to this, not really a disturbed fan but mrs elm is, and she hates megadave which I like.

Tbh my biggest issue with him was the picture of him signing missiles that Israel were launching into Palestine. I don't think I follow him on social media so probably miss more.

But I agree if he does try to speak about the Israel stuff I can definitely hear some boos coming from the crowd.

Anyways, I'll see what the ticket prices are before making a final decision

Ive always wanted to see Megadeth, regardless of how Dave sounds. Will try get a ticket for cheap closer the time and call it a day.

No interest in seeing Disturbed. Even less so since I've read all his Zionist sh*te.

It certainly has and although I had seen them once before and I was (and am still) a huge fan of their early albums I went primarily to see another up-and-coming act the last time.

Doubt I'll go to Megadave unless cheap tickets are available. If he was the headliner I would but I have absolutely zero interest in Disturbed. In fact far less than zero.

Used to love Megadeth but wouldn't go near any gig with this horrible c**t anywhere near it.

Just went on there. Tons of tickets left, no seating left that's not platinum. I guess I'll wait until they inevitably drop back to normal

Have a standing ticket, I'll be leaving straight after Megadeth , like many others.

What are the chances of this selling out anyway, were Disturbed ever that big here, I've heard the name a bit over the years, apart from the cover of Sound of Silence, don't think I know anything by them.

Megadeth are firmly in the "legacy" act category, I see a lot of giving out about them playing second fiddle to Disturbed, which I agree with, wish they were headlining their own gig in the Olympia.

I see it's probably over 90 euro for standing and nearly 200 for seating 😲, saw the co-headline with Lamb Of God for less than 60, f*cking hate how much concert prices have gone up.

What an absolute w*nkstain. … and his band are shite.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,960 ✭✭✭RayCon

I was at that too. The Almighty opened. I had backstage passes and ended up in the Pink Elephant with The Almighty and AIC. During the night I was talking to Layne and he handed me 57p (yes, 57 pence) and asked could I get him some "blow"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 719 ✭✭✭WindmillWarrior

That was my first ever gig. Man in the box is etched into my memory as it was blaring out as we ran from the entrance to the stage.

Megadeth were unreal that night, what a gig. The crowd singing every word of In my darkest hour being one of the highlights

    F*** that

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,320 ✭✭✭✭greenspurs

    I caught Nick Menza's drumstick ....

Scrambling round on the floor in the most pit , found it , and stuck it in my Doc ,!!

    Still have it .,

Have I misremembered it all these years? - I thought it was AIC then The Almighty followed by Megadeth

    It was great either way.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 719 ✭✭✭WindmillWarrior

No, that is correct. Definitely Alice in Chains first. I looked up their set list from that night and it says they only played 2 songs - now I don't remember that!
