    no, they don't. the post you had been responding to specifically stated 'all the email servers along the way'. they most certainly do not.

    and as Raichu mentioned, the notion of HR ringing up their IT department asking to examine the headers or logging on an email which arrived late anyway, it doesn't happen.

    Nope, it wouldn't have been grand. All PAS booklets make it clear that the candidate is responsible for ensuring they have Internet access.

    I have always found the 3pm deadline odd as its not even the end of the working day but it is virtually always the case with Publicjobs.

    It is unforutnate but a lesson learned for the next time, with an organisation that does such large volume recruitment there would likely be no leeway on this as for many roles they are receiving significantly more applications than needed.

    It used to be midnight on the last day. They changed it to 5pm or 5.30pm at one stage and then altered it again so that it's now 3pm. Not sure why, would assume it's because someone raised a stink for some reason.
