102 Grand Prix, 99 race starts, Yuki Tsnouda is now the driver on the current grid waiting the longest for his first podium.

    This too shall pass.

And ironically when he gets his chance at a top team the car is a piece of sh!t

Hulkenberg still has record of most races without a win.

Tsunoda is 4th now on longest streak before 1st podium, Adrian Sutil leads with 128 starts.

Every team has both drivers scoring points for them, with Alpine being the only exception.

Alpine must do something about the second seat quickly. I don't see Doohan returning and Colapinto is on thin ice.

Would you take Bottas? And would Bottas take seat if he had Cadillac lined up for 2026?

What are people's thoughts on Colapinto, Alpine will be worse that Red Bull if they switch him out, even more embarrassing for them if they put Doohan back in the car and he does nothing either. Would Drugovich be worth a punt?

Personally I don't think Colapinto did enough last season to warrant the praise he was getting, he crashed far too often and that has continued this year. Granted yesterday's dnf may not have been his fault but it wasn't like he was setting the stage alight on Friday and Saturday. But since getting into the Alpine he's done very little other than crash, and all he really needed to do was be a safe pair of hands to better Doohan.

If Alpine do let him go, I can see that's him done in F1, I don't see why any other team would rush to sign him.

    Thoughts?

He's been put into a very tough position but in the world of F1 it's sink or swim and he's not swimming right now. He does seem to bring a lot of sponsorship which could be helping him stay put, but I wouldn't be surprised if he falls off the grid permanently in the next few weeks.

    All DNFs were rookies.

Admittedly Kimi, Hadjar and Bearman seem do be working well, but this is some coincidence.

Can't see Colapinto, Lawson or Bortoleto lasting… (although Alonso is Bortoletos manager, so who knows)

Bortoleto has been doing excellent too - he's tied on the head-to-head with Hulkenberg for qualifying.

Colapinto and Lawson will be lucky to see out the season and can't see them back next year.

I was only talking to someone about Colapinto. He had a good first race I think it was and everyone were blinkered with what happened next and Carlos money helped them not remember it also. Jack can’t do any worse and he didn’t really get a fair crack as people said his seat was gone before the season started. He deserved a few races on tracks he knew but it’s a cut throat business. If you’re Bottas and get offered a seat he has to take it as a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush as if he’s in for Cadillac but that could change

    Lol.

Hulkenberg alone is out scoring red bull over this period.

Max, for the first time in a long time, cost himself quite a few points at the weekend. Usually he exponentially outscores the car.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,254 ✭✭✭✭El_Duderino 09

Not taking issue with the fact that he usually performs excellently and makes few mistakes. But we have to keep in mind that "outperforming the car" isn't a thing. Unless his feet are sticking out the bottom, Wacky Races style, then he's getting great results from the car and pushing hard.

Hyperbole is fine, but let's remember that's what it is.

Hopefully Horner doesn't return, get Guenther in.

I think they've been waiting to get rid of him for some time. Timing a bit strange, must have been a (another) row.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,786 ✭✭✭PsychoPete

I remember seeing the rumors a while back and then the Ferrari rumours kicked off. By RedBull standards the performance of the car has been awful more so for the second car, churning out second drivers like there's no tomorrow, losing important staff etc are grounds for sacking but I thought if they were going to sack him it would be at the end of the season. I wonder if they have lost Max and that was the final nail in the coffin

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,838 ✭✭✭✭mickdw

Redbull is falling apart. Still surprised to see him sacked.

He will be snapped up straight away I'd imagine.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,797 ✭✭✭Dave0301

According to Ralf Schumacher there was a row after the weekend.

Could definitely see Horner at Ferrari in the future.
