Most overpriced thing

Ireland is expensive in general but there are some things that I don't get people paying for when there are cheaper alternative. The biggest one would be Dominos Pizza. Not bad at all but there's no way I'd be forking out €15 for a medium sized pizza when I could get Apaches or even a frozen one that's not that bad.

Another is all the iPhones. I think it's mostly a fashion statement for some .

People upgrading their cars way too often…. and paying huge premiums to do so (eating up all the early stage depreciation).

(I guess PCP could be a big reason for regularly upgrading a car).

I bought a new car 4.5 years ago, a Tesla, and intend on keeping it for as long as it lasts really… but in the Tesla Ireland facebook group, I see loads people upgrading out of cars less than a year old, because the newer one has a slightly newer bit of tech or whatever in it….

1 member, has had 7 new Tesla's in the space of 2 years!!! (granted I believe it's a 2 car household, but still 7 cars in 2 years!!)

the argument against though, is will the place where you buy the 10 cans for €20 also provide you shelter, heating, somewhere comfortable to sit, and top level sports being shown on a TV while you are drinking your 10 cans?

exactly, and you got them for free with your 10 cans? or you paid for them yourself? (the same as the pub would have done).

And by the way I am not a regular pub drinker as I also believe they are very expensive for what they offer, but to compare the price of a pint in a pub to the price of a can of beer from Tesco is the same as comparing hiring a limousine to bring you to the airport vs getting a Dublin Bus to the airport…

Genuinely don't know anyone who buys an iPhone as a fashion statement. They buy it because they like the phone and it's functionality.

Who looks at what phones people have anyway? It's always something that seems to annoy Android users who seem to post this just to justify their own purchasing decision.

I see the majority of ads for smart phones harp on about the camera and their amazing functionality.

Vast majority will never use these cameras beyond point and shoot. But ya €1200 for a phone. Because of the camera.

I think, ironically enough, minimum unit pricing has gone a long way to killing a lot of the pub trade

Many couples used to stay home on a Friday night and have a few cans or bottles of wine. They'd go out then on a Saturday night to the local boozer. MUP comes in and now you're paying much more for the Friday night so obviously the Saturday night budget is the one that will take the hit.

For me the most overpriced thing is Krispy Kreme donuts. They have an offer at the moment, Choose your own Dozen For
€25.95. Over €2 per donut and despite being bakers a dozen is only 12

All replaceable razor blades are an insane price. Fusion 5 is even worse the Mach 3, €17 or €18 for a pack of 4.
