One amateur station near Tullow (which I suspect is quite sheltered from the wind and so is good for rain) recorded about 80mm yesterday.

My own station in Cobh recorded absolutely no rain, but thats because it all was blown past it. Gusts of 70kmh, then 90kmh at Roches Point.

I feel this one should have been a named storm, we've had named storms that weren't as impactful as this one was.

From about 1pm it rained heavily till the evening and was quite windy - blowing empty rubbish bins over, windy, I have seen much worse both for rain and wind. Still it was a day to stay inside. There were some reports of severe flooding but I have not been out since to see for myself. I live at the top of a hill so it doesn't tend to be a problem!

The mets new flood warning system should have be active by now and it could have warned less weather savvy people around west waterford. There was a radio discussion on WLRFM with Carlow weather about the lack of weather stations and water level monitors around here and he is right. West Waterford and East Waterford have different weather due to the mountains.
