Search only showing posts since August?

on desktop if I filter just by my username, It returns all threads I've started, but just posts from August and September, and I don't think all those are included either

Edit. It's only returning a handful of results going back years on any given search when there should be hundreds

Yes, it's all a bit of a mess isn't it. You shouldn't have to, but I find the search filter does work a bit better if you use "quotation marks" around whatever the search term you're looking for is, otherwise you get lots of partial matches.

It looks like we're gonna have to endure this mess for the foreseeable though, they don't seem to be making any speedy efforts to fix the issues with vanilla . . no wonder so many people have quit the site.

You're correct, it's completey (and newly) borked, nothing you can do with the search filter. The index in the backend is what's broken, it can only be fixed on Vanilla's side.
