OK, so let's say they've excelled and become the best the could be.

    2 players in a decade.

When my point was clearly that united have had huge difficulty with developing players for more than a decade, do you actually disagree?

When my point is that the environment at united has proven problematic for countless players, do you actually disagree?

He was attacked, by the government of his country.

Like all black players I guess.

Nice that you don't think having to face abuse every day could make you fall out of love with your life. Cause no mental stress. Absolutely impossible for it have an impact on his life. And if it does have an impact, that's his fault. He just needed to be stronger, his fault. Others have been fine, he should be too.

    Everything exists in perfect isolation.

He's been rubbish this season. I've been massively disappointed he didn't kick on with amorim cause I reckon the inside left position should be made for him.

He looks disinterested. He looks like he hates life.

But let's not wonder or discuss why that might be the case. Let's not care. He's not been good enough playing football and that's the only thing that we should care about or discuss.

Why does the United fan, academy graduate seemingly hate playing for united? Who cares, it's cause he's lazy.

And maybe he is just lazy. Maybe it is all his fault. But let's never wonder if that's not the case, or if there are any lessons that should be learned.

That's an awful lot of words to not have bothered answering the question.

There is no lets say, they have excelled, you didn't ask for a certain number of examples you just asked who excelled which I provided and naturally you disagree.

Here are some stats withing the last decade

De Gea : 4 time PFA Team of the year, 2 Golden Gloves, 3 MOTD saves of the season, FIFPRO World 11, Players Player of the year and Matt Busby player of the year 3 times.

Fernandes : 104 goals and assists, PFA Team of the year, 3 x Matt Busby player of the year, FSA player of the year and ESM team of the year.

How you can say they haven't excelled is beyond me, and no goal post moving is going to get me to move on from this.

As usual you ask for examples they are provided then you try switch the conversation, and you wonder why people on here get so frustrated with you.

Context. The conversations exist in context. It's not moving goal posts. The context was united have been terrible for player development for a decade. 2 players excelling don't disprove that. But sure, you dig in on this point and ignore the context. Abd then take a shot at me. Like usual. Cheers.

    Context lol

You asked I provided and you still have to try be right 😂

I'm done with this you won't be baiting me with non stop goal post moving 👍🏻

Psg won't want him now. Maybe they did previously. I hope he's sold abroad though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48,941 ✭✭✭✭Mitch Connor

    Try be right…

Or try to have an actual conversation. You responded, in complete isolation, to the first sentence of a post. Deliberately, and continually ignoring the context of the rest of the post.

And then you claim I'm trying to bait you?

Yeah I watched it as I was writing the comment. Gary was going off on tangents about this and that when the conversation was clearly about Rashford when he says "for years" they've been moping around.

His points about Kanchelskis and Giggs etc. you think that's a good point? Left and right wingers playing with 2 strikers against the team's most advanced attacker for years?

Micah was saying he doesn't necessarily disagree with Gary the whole time. Bar some framing of what Neville said as above I don't disagree either with the sentiment.

Ultimately my view on it is that Rashford was actively told for years to be the main attacking outlet and always stay up and make the run. This led to good habits going forward and a level of complacency off the ball as that wasn't what he was being asked to do. When the goals dried up there was nothing to fall back on so he kept playing that way and it looks terrible. But he doesn't have the legs to play at that intensity while the team behind him can't make up for it with hard running.

It's why I thought the 10 position would suit him. Can occupy the inside left and have 2 covering mids and an LWB beside him. I guess not anyway but sure.

100% agree. Bait & switch constantly.

Moving on. I wish Rashford well. I hope he finds a club where he can get back to form and revive his England career. And I hope that if he ever comes back to play against United, he'll play as well as he has done for us in the last few years lol.

I can see Rashford going to PSG and I hope he tears up the league.

At one stage under Ole we had Rashford, Martial and Greenwood looking like a good front 3 for years to come but for various reasons none will be at the club by next year.

    Shame how it turned out.

Papers has us linked today with a loan move for Muani from PSG. Perhaps a loan swap between them might suit everyone and re-assess in the summer (for a permanent transfer)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48,941 ✭✭✭✭Mitch Connor

    Hopefully not.

That guy would be a poor signing. People complain about Rashford numbers and this guy would kill for his numbers.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,226 ✭✭✭✭DrPhilG

I'd be wary of a loan unless it has an obligation rather than an option.

Rashford blows hot and cold so if he went to Paris or anywhere else and flopped, it would do more harm than good.

Scott Mct a bang average footballer with about 1/10th the natural ability of rashford came through the same youth academy and whatever you can say about him as a footballer always gave you 100% effort on the pitch, he has made the absolute most of of his talent and is probably at the highest level of the game his talent would allow him get, you'd look at him and say he has gotten as much out of himself as he could, you look at rashford and its the compete opposite.

Same club, same opportunities, same coaches completely different attitudes. 1 has made the most of himself and his talent, 1 will be looked back on as he wasted his talent.

People will make every sort of excuse for rashford there is but when it comes down to it no one failed him except himself.

    Great post Mitch!

Was writing something earlier and lost it, couldn't be bothered typing it again and I know the response it would get anyway.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,714 ✭✭✭Caustic

Loan move for rashford like the Sancho one might be on the card especially if he did this interview without the clubs say so

Wouldn't be surprised at all if Chelsea or Bayern try to sign him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,471 ✭✭✭FrankN1

    If it's Chelsea, then 100m.

    Bayern it can be 50m

Who really cares if Rashford goes, honestly, would there be many fans disappointed at his latest statement saying he wants out? The writing been on the wall now this past season and a half. The club have been a complete joke up until recently and that's kind of rubbed off on some players. Understandable but no excuse really. I see Bruno being brought up but one thing you can never say about him is that he doesn't leave it all on the pitch, even when he's been struggling.

I think the chances of Rashford going to another team and finding that spark again are actually better than most people would realize. He's got bored at Utd, it's all very stale for him and as a professional he needs to move on. No problem with that but I really couldn't care less how he does at another club. I didn't give a single shïtê about Ronaldo or Becks when they moved on and they were far better players than Rashford.

Out the gap with you lad, sort your head out (whatever is going on with him), and enjoy the rest of your career.

"Well, yeah, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man"

According to ducker Rashford preference if he does leave is Spain.

Real already have 3 players who prefer that left side, and barca can't afford ( as it stands) to continue to play olmo next month.

Don't see him going to at. Madrid, they just spent big on alverez and have AG too.

Any Italian side will offer a loan with a tiny option and paying like 3quid a week.

I reckon united would have an interest in at least two juve players but don't see juve entertaining a swap and motta might not want the potential circus. Maybe napoli in a swap deal for osimhen. Though they have a player in the left position already (that apparently we'd like..)

If PSG don't come in for him it'll be slim pickings for him I reckon. And United would be loathe to sell domestically, to clubs who've said they wouldn't do business with united.

McTominay is 10 months older than Rashford.

Came up through the same sh1tshow of an environment, but for all of his limitations could never have been accused of giving anything less than 100% when on the pitch.

Rashford has talent to burn - but lack of application has let him down.
It’s sad to see how bad the past 18 months have been, but him moving on is best for both sides at this stage

Straight swap for Chris Wood anyone?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 8,374 ✭✭✭El Gato De Negocios

All his statement does is give journos more questions that will continue to be asked ad nauseum of RA and the other players until such time as he leaves, more Circus nonsense.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,437 ✭✭✭Quags

If he goes then he goes, fans being crying out for years that the club needs to start selling underperforming players and now people are in outrage over it. He hasn’t looked happy in a while and a new start may be exactly what is needed for him.
