Rashford saying the transition hasn’t started yet but it has - and part of this transition was moving him on. He’s right to say what he said but he must realise that he was a part of what needed to change as well. He should be disappointed in himself about that.

He would do well to take Linekar’s advice and it’s good for Rashford that he had the chance to speak with him, someone who has done it at that club before. Little snippets of advice like dealing with the media there, the fans etc can go a long way, if he takes them board.

He could do very well at Barcelona and it’s a very good opportunity for him to play a part in one of the best teams in the world at the moment. The manager likes him, he should work hard to keep it that way.

I think people should watch the full interview with Lineker before commenting. He comes across as very bright and self aware.

He's right in what's gone on at the club and we are only at what we all hope is the beginning of a proper and sustained rebuild.

I think Rashford has been given a unfair ride from a PR perspective. That's not to excuse some of his behavior off the field but I wouldn't be putting him in the Sancho bracket for example. I just think the situation snowballed and it was best for everyone that he moved on. He's a good player and if he gets his mind and body right then he will do well in La Liga.

Rashford mouthing off is like Lehman Brothers crying about how lax the financial systems were in 2008.

Yes the ststems were lax, but it's still their own fault they went bankrupt. They don't get to point fingers at anybody.

    And neither does Rashford.

That mad bastard Indykalia saying a bid for Belba is imminent.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,224 ✭✭✭✭DrPhilG

Ross Harwood, Is he a bit of a spoofer?

Said yesterday that Garnacho to Chelsea was almost done, at £35m.

Also that United would be making a bid this week for Baleba, £85m plus £15m in add ons.

He's now saying that Hojlund to Milan is as good as done, £6m loan fee and £40m option.

He is saying people have been saying we have been in transition for 6 years but if you don't define your direction and stick to it, you aren't in transition, you are just reacting to the now.

    But I guess he's wrong.

I'll just take the headline saying his comment is the transition hasn't started and leave it at that. BOO THAT MAN.

It doesn't really matter is Rashford is right or wrong IMO. He's still technically a Utd player and really should be staying quiet until he's officially left the club for good and he can say what he wants then.

"Well, yeah, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man"

New sponsorship deal with Coca Cola announced.

You don't find it even a little hypocritical of Rashford to deny his own part in United's inertia?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,224 ✭✭✭✭DrPhilG

    New sponsors...

Still no sign of a sponsor for Carrington or the training kit though which is just bizarre.

I watched the interview in full before the article was even posted in here, so don’t come at me about reading a headline. I know exactly what he said. I chose to comment on him saying ‘the transition hasn’t started yet’ part as I believe it has started. I didn’t say he was wrong about the other things he said however that had already been discussed so there wasn’t much point in me covering it again.

Do you think the transition hasn’t started yet? If not, why?

Do you think he shouldn’t be disappointed in himself over his conduct the last 3 years or so? I think you’d have a hard job suggesting otherwise.

Boo that man? My post was balanced and neutral and I suggested that he could do very well there. I haven’t taken the line that others have like ‘he won’t play, ‘he won’t do anything’ or ‘he’ll be straight back etc’. So why you have a problem with what I’ve said is strange to me.

I wonder do INEOS want to sponsor these in time but won't do it while they're only minority owners.

I wouldn't have thought that it would fall under "football decisions" so not strictly an Ineos decision. Glazers could still handle that surely.

Just seems silly to leave cash on the table when we're under financial pressure.

Im not at all confident about Sunday and would take a point now tbh. The most important thing is seeing a team performance, not the disjointed scutter that has been on display most of the time since RA came in. Pre-season matches had some lovely interlinking passages of play but also some of the headless stuff too. And pre-season is in no way shape or form an indicator of how the season will start.

It's going to be a signal of intent from Amorim. Does he want to win the game or not lose the game...

I can see him starting Bruno, Cunha, and Mbeumo as the front three with two of Ugarte, Casemiro, or Mainoo behind.

Trying to get inside his head, I think he will start Ugarte and Casemiro with that front 3. I also think Dalot gets the nod to start over Amad (for mmh… slight more defensive cover.)

I think he'll try to keep it tight for 60-70 mins and then bring in Amad, Mainoo, and Sesko (with Bruno dropping deeper).

    Yes he is.

He deletes tweets on stuff he gets wrong and leaves up what he gets right.
Throws a lot of **** at the wall and keeps what sticks

Jim named dropped Coke and Apple and the Carrington reopening when saying Utd is one of the biggest brands in the world. Apple to come in next :P

Maybe that's another reason they don't mind using the credit now to get Baleba because they know there's sponsorship money, Carrington included, coming in this season.

good job Cr7 is not with utd anymore, he wouldn’t drink or endorse that crap!

the training ground hasn't had one in a few years, but the training kit was an active 25million a year that we are missing this season onwards. It is really odd we haven;t replaced a massive revenue stream we had last season.

2nd half of the season.. we’re doing a title charge.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 8,371 ✭✭✭El Gato De Negocios

Maybe they are waiting on an announcement until after the window closes? If a big sponsorship deal is announced now, all of a sudden it looks like we have additional funds to throw around.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,269 ✭✭✭paulbok

Baffling alright, between the two, it's a Baleba signing every season.

The same ones siding with Rashford and moaning abiut united not picking a direction and sticking too it are the same ones that will moan at the first sign if a run of bad results and want the manager sacked.

Id say ineos(wilcox and berada) have a direction they want the club to go and RA is still in charge and backed this summer because he is trying to implement what they want with no shortcuts.

Rashford is speaking from mostly years under Woodward and the rest they had no clue about football just commercial focused. The first sign of a manager dropping him he went off and said he was ready for a new challenge.

Rashford plays the victim card perfectly. Glad he is gone.

Rashford's comments are completely tone deaf but unsurprising really. At no point has he taken responsibility for himself and his performances.

Saying the transition hasn't started yet—& ignoring that he's been kicked out as part of the actual transition—and also making no reference to his own part in the team's recent form is just completely self-serving.

He's got his head in the sand.

Good riddance Rashford, was disgusting to see him sprinting hard for Barca the other night, was jogging for us for a season plus, disgraceful attitude.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,673 ✭✭✭✭FourFourRED

Grimsby Town away in the second round of the Carabao Cup. Should be winning that 😁

Second round of the cup, that's a novelty 😕

If Rashford had any brain cells left he'd have just kept his mouth shut. Eejit. Booting him out has been fantastic for improving the team, hes just too deluded to realise.
