US egg prices are forecast to ↑ further

According to Department of Agriculture's price outlook, egg prices are predicted to increase about 20% in 2025, compared to about 2.2% for overall food prices. USDA attributed the rise in egg costs to the highly pathogenic bird flu outbreak, which has caused a strain in supply.

Beef, coffee and orange juice are also expected to be higher in price in 2025, but none will rise to the degree of eggs.

Supply and prices will stabilize only when farms and producers can recover their stock of healthy laying hens.

Don't believe The Apprentice was found to have defamed him at all. Ireland funds lots of successful movies and they weren't funding it to defame him. In fact, outside of giving Screen Ireland funding, I'd be pretty confident that the government has a pretty limited involvement in selecting who gets funded. But good job at illustrating what a sad and petty man Trump is.

Yes, and it was a completely ridiculous stance to take. The most significant driver of the cost of eggs currently is avian flu. The flu is here too, there is nothing to gloat about. Flocks will be devastated.

General inflation however is as a result of monetary and economic policy. Some of that is due to bidens policies, but much of it too is from Trumps 1st term as well.

Given trumps tariff policy will make most things more expensive the MAGA idea that prices would generally fall was fiction.

Prices of certain foodstuff may fall in the short term though as the US gov. will not be buying as much for aid and tariffs may see a domestic glut.

It starved to death a long time ago. One disease running HHS is the same as another.

    #MEGA MAKE EUROPE GREAT AGAIN

Big challenge I see is harvesting time and illegal immigrants who have a key role in this activity - if ICE agents are lurking at the farm gates then watch for a lot of rotting fruit and veg and empty shelves. Hopefully America will wake up to the fact it’s not all about tattooed faces of gang members invading the country

He put out a cease-and-desist, they said themselves they wanted it out before the election, that's election meddling funded by the Irish tax payer, it's no excuse for the government to claim they don't now what the money is spent on as that's litreally their job. Anyway that's just one example of how they've wound him up.

This isn't true though. It's just MAGA shrieking any time someone isn't effusively praising their idol.

Well with RFK's brain worm overseeing the CDC and FDA, maybe they won't cull the flocks and allow the producers to sell their eggs, sure it's only a little flu!

A cease and desist isn't proof of defamation. The fact he couldn't prevent the release actually goes against your claim. Governments generally don't intervene in the funding of the arts for very good reason. If they did, movies critical of the government wouldn't get released etc.

Releasing a biopic is not election meddling and if it were, it's release could be prevented. The movie is not defamatory. You just seem to be a fan of the fact that Trump simply isn't a very nice person.

His view could basically be described as

Guy - acts like an a$$hole

    People - treats him accordingly

Guy - "oh my god, you guys are so mean!"

He’s really the only one who can say that, regardless it’s not something we should be funding in the run up to a foreign election. I hope I’m wrong but we’ve really dirtied our bib and it could possibly get worse.

Mickey is over in America anyway for Paddy's day. If he gets snubbed by Drumpf then Trudeau is only a short hop over the border

Yes I'm acutely aware of the Avian Fl but I'm fairly sure they import a lot of eggs as well though. The thing is if/when the chicken flu hits us EU governments will likely back the farmers to some degree so the cost should be more stable than it is in the states

The government must be dreading March 17. Being Taoiseach to hold over the bowl of shamrock used to be a highlight of the role but this year they must be hoping the invite never arrives. Trump, Vance and Kellogg have already humiliated Europe and i doubt Martin will escape.

Isn't Trump heavily associated with the likes of the daily wire who fund defamatory videos about Trump's enemies? Hasn't Trump himself engaged in defamation on a frequent basis including of Jean E Carroll? You've taken some fake stand about defamation but now you've realized, Trump never proved in a court that the film was defamatory. However he himself engages in defamation of public figures on a constant basis and in the case of Jean E Carroll it was proven in a court...

This goes back to, every single thing that Trump accusers others of, he's very much so guilty of it. His fans just aren't fans of his more extreme true colours being exposed.

"Humiliated Europe", are you having a laugh? The only humiliation so far has been their own.

Trump is probably out to get Ireland bacause of his views on trade. If the Taoiseach thinks he can somehow deal with or flatter DJT on March 17th, he is a fool. Better not to meet him at all: he will break any promises he might make.

That’s not the same thing as foreign government interference which is what we did. Harris posting the cap was more of it.
You’re mistaking fans for a detest of the other sides policy’s. Not everyone that voted for him likes him, they just hate the left/democrats politics more so they’re willing to put up with him to sort it out. In fairness to him he’s hit the ground running. The majority are happy according to poles that the pendulum is swinging back.

"He" being one of the most deceitful people in the world. It's not election interference, it's a film about a prominent figure. It's quite accurate as well. I finished Maggie Haberman's book before watching it and it captures Trump's essence, such as it is, perfectly.

You're calling it foreign government interference. It's not. Every time you say it, it doesn't make it true. It actually had a very limited run in the US pre election but that was the decision of cinema chains. It wasn't a legal determination by the government because the movie doesn't break any law, nor does funding it. If they really wanted, they could have litigated to delay its release on spurious grounds but they didn't.

Also I take it that you now admit that it wasn't actually defamatory. You seem to be bypassing the fact that Trump is the only one who has been found to have committed defamation btw

One of the most deceitful people in the world, a bit extreme, no? Seems to me more of a peacemaker and a feminist. People seem to hate him for it though, strange stance to have.

    In which the poster

    A) states, in defence of Trump, that it is wrong to interfere with an election, knowing as they do, what Trump did on Jan 6

    and

    B) admits that Trump may be a sh1thead, but they support him because they hate democrats more

He called for ethnic cleansing only a few weeks back. And it's genuinely hilarious that you'd refer to him as a feminist. Ignoring his own crimes.

    1. He tried to appoint a sex trafficker as attorney general
    2. Linda McMahon is implicated in the coverup of child sex abuse and her ex husband is also implicated in sex trafficking (also a friend of Trump)
    3. Pete Hegseth paid out on a rape allegation plus known to be an abuser.
    4. Then there's Trump's attack on reproductive rights

So you claiming he's a feminist is frankly hilarious. Next thing you'll do is claim he's a good Christian. 🤣

Serial abuser of women is a feminist and fascist = peacemaker. This just screams radicalisation, honestly.

I remain to be convinced by a cogent argument but we both know there isn't one.

"I don't think he's deceitful, I just believe everything he says despite all the evidence to the contrary"

    Excellent.

When the flu hits us, supply will decrease so prices will rise. Nothing European governments can do unless they get into direct intervention and rationing, which they won't.
