TA! - Because they don't want you to be able to taste it.

Wake me up when it's all over.

No I don't think I'll ever get over Macho Grande…

In the space of a few days we find out that two of my mothers eldest siblings are going into care homes.

It’s especially shocking in the case of one who up until recently was living alone, without help, still driving short distances , doing their own shopping and basically as independent as can be. Think it’s knocked my mother for six that both are on a bit of a downward trajectory wellbeing wise but especially the younger one. Taken me by surprise too it must be said, but such is life.

That must be Nigel with the brie...

Because Guinness are offering to fit new cooling systems in bars for free that chill it colder than it used to be. Remember Guinness Extra Cold, how they pushed it on us like crazy and how it bombed because nobody liked it? They have finally managed to sneak it in through the back door and force it on us.

All the usual suspects bowing down to the great Joe Duffy and talking about the impact he had on Ireland.

He did have an impact, a negative one. The misery vampire.

Trying to hang those F-ing vertical blinds in my house . One fell off , and while trying to re-hang it , I knocked another three off . A complete pain in the ass . And looking around none of my neighbours have them

people who think a clock or watch is just a decorative ornament / fashion item. And not a device that should help you keep time and be on time when you’ve somewhere to be….like you know….a set medical appointment, whereby if you are anyway significantly late you’ll probably just have yourself removed from the list. 😵‍💫

Folks using smartphones on speaker phone mode right up the ear (one of the bottom corners) to listen to whomever is on the other end of the line and then back closer to their mouths into the mic to reply grinds my gears a little!! And back and forth. Pretty much turning it in to a walkie-talkie and (pointlessly) inverting the position of the earpiece and mic relative to how it should normally be held. Why??

    Needlessly protracted interview processes.

Somebody has created their whole job around the protracted processes. If it was all streamlined they would probably end up out on their ear.

I would absolutely dread to think that so many young folk (the main demographic here) could be hard of hearing (unless years of wireless earbuds turned up to 11) was self imposed! In general terms, holding a flat object (a phone) against another (pretty much) flat surface (your cheek) guarantees the most efficient of form of audio transmission.

I rely on a private bus service to get home.

I was waiting at Cathal Brugha Street, as there was one siting there with my destination on the front.

No sign of it opening up to 15:58 so I ran up to Cumberland Street as the bus leaves from that stop sometimes, usually late at night.

The driver he had just pulled out (just the front of the bus) as he was was stuck in traffic, the lights were red.

I tapped on the window, he just pointed ahead and then drove off.

From the bottom of my heart -

    …. that guy 😡
