    DPD wouldn't get many bulk deliveries except from their own other depots. Unless any of those are also near rail, the transhipment times would not be acceptable for a primarily overnight service.

    Mixed trains are near unheard of now (for safety reasons primarily), and impossible on multiple units anyway.



    Quick wins for freight are never going to be light freight or just in time freight. Exports of non time critical types are probably the quickest win - full containers going to ferry ports.
