How does the "temporary agent" form work? Can my friend collect my dole while I relax in Barbados?

Only messing about Barbados.

But I am going to do some job hunting from somewhere nice and warm for a couple of weeks rather than being stuck inside my bedroom all day with the rain smashing against the window.

Kind of like a digital nomad, but homeless with no job.

Has anybody used the "temporary agent" form before?

It seems like an easier option than pre-arranging holidays with the Intreo office.

Nothing wrong with being stuck in your bedroom all day while listening to the rain hitting the window.

edit: On topic I didn't even know that was an option to have someone collect your dole. I don't actually agree with it either though.

Since Jobseeker's Allowance and Jobseeker's Benefit are not eligible for collection by a temporary agent, no, it's not possible

The temporary agent form is only for certain payments, usually used by pensioners. For jobseekers payments you have to collect the money yourself.
