Happy new year 2024 weather buds.

December brought 204mm of rain beat July as the wettest month of 2023 (July had 183mm)

Hail for 2024 just after midnight. Good for weather people like me. Not good for fireworks.

Prediction for 2024 hottest Summer day on record. Whats yours???

Yet another utterly miserable day on the Mizen peninsula - as it seems to have been every day for the past five weeks, or longer. At least the interminable wind has dropped, but it's raining heavily, as usual. Will it ever end?

(My new south-facing PV solar panels managed to generate a miserable 33 kWh in December because of the almost constant cloud and mist. I didn't expect much, but the models suggested that I'd generate between 75 and 95 kWh. 😒)

That was one dreary miserable wet day…would love an extended dry crisp bright period at this stage!

Went out for a walk in Galway earlier and had to turn back to the car after about 15 minutes. Miserable miserable miserable. Heavy rain and then when it wasn't heavy it was misty. Drove home about 5pm and roads were flooded, fields saturated and pools forming where I have never seen them before.

A terrible Christmas period here. Praying for a settled cold spell.
