    The fireworks display on RTE was embarrassing. A few piddling rockets for about a minute at midnight, and I mean piddling. Contrast that with London on Sky News, it looked like World War 3 had broken out. Went on for 12 minutes, mixed with a light display at London's Eye.

    Switched on RTE for the countdown. Didnt know what was going to be on. Clocks said 23.58. Thought grand Il grab afew things from kitchen-crips and another few beers.

    Then clocks said 00.00 we were like wheres the countdown?

    Seems we were talking away and missed it lol!

    Just saw it on the Plus One and it was totaly rushed like no big deal at all

    Then ofcourse the gig wrapped up and what do RTE put on but Silence of the Lambs! Great viewing lol

    Still not as bad as the year of the Bail Out where they nearly missed Midnight coz Joe Duffy and others were complianing all night how bad things were!

    What good are fireworks on tv anyway? If you're there in person, fair enough, but even then thirteen minutes is a bit much, no?

    After five minutes would you not be checking your phone, that's if your not using it to record the thing, which you'll never look back on anyway......

    Thought she was ok. I was led to believe she was some kind of prodigy or something but nothing special really. You'd hear a busker as good.
