I'll continue to regularly donate to GRIPT as long as they continue to do the job other MSM refuses to.

    Your money, your choice.

I subscribe to the Irish Times.

    (not posting a receipt)

I know exactly where my money goes and who is behind the IT.

Can you say the same for Gript ?

Why the hell anyone would feel the need to post up a receipt here beats me, totally bizarre (and the right go on about virtue signalling?)

You're using the literal definition of "mainstream". Here, it's being used as a pejorative to delegitimise any dissent from the narrative peddled by liars and other disseminators of fake news such as gript.

What Ben either doesn't know, doesn't understand, or chooses to keep to himself, is that if Dept A proposes some referendum / legislation wording, Depts B, C, D etc etc are going to be asked for their comments on how it affects their areas of responsibility and they will come up with every possible adverse scenario however unlikely.

Nobody likes having change imposed on them by others so of course they will emphasise the possible negatives, in fact it's their duty to do so.

In every referendum campaign there are legal opinions commissioned by Yes and No groups, and the very learned barristers come up with completely differing opinions on the same question. Surprise surprise. So is "disinformation" determined by which side wins? or are both honest, plausible opinions backed up by reasonable interpretations of the law and the constitution?

The government choosing to endorse a particular viewpoint or opinion is not disinformation just because opposing viewpoints or opinions exist (which will always be the case).

    I'm partial to your abracadabra,

I'm raptured by the joy of it all.

It's one thing to be wrong on occasion, quite another to spread racism, fake news, and conspiracy theories like gript does regularly.

I just bought a first edition copy of The Devils of Loudon by Aldous Huxley. Been after it for a while.

Jacket is a bit tattered but it wasn't a bad price.

Not sure why we're posting pictures of our recent online transactions but I don't like feeling left out so here you go.

    Anyone see today's outrage?

Nude people. The shock. The horror. 'Down with this sort of thing' etc

Ben Scallan again? Is he the only person there? Is it his blog?

Sample of the accounts that are outraged. Basically it's the most predictable lot of Gript readers that are annoyed. It's not even a new cycle, it's been going on for years... 😂 Say the main motivation for annoyance is he's in the green party.

    Whooosh

Existence of differing opinions != disinformation.

Ultimately the only opinion that matters in relation to the constitution and the law is the Supreme Court's but you can only obtain that opinion after the fact.

Got it. But in the meantime they can pick one representation of the consequences of a proposed change in our laws to the exclusion of the other, say from ohhh let's see....Rossa Fanning and pretend they never heard it.....and contradict it in a speech to the voting public in advance of voting. Cool. Sounds fair.

I'm sorry, but yes it is a horror, yes it should be down with that sort of thing.

Where are we going as a country and society that A, its alright to parade around naked and B, where elected representatives use it as a photo and publicity opportunity.

The country and the world needs a moral reset.

    What's immoral about being nude?

The prudishness of some people in this country is rather hilarious.

I don’t follow Gript and have limited knowledge on what they are about, but when the national media start publishing such biased surveys according to their own agenda then are we now entering a phase where it is necessary to follow the US model and have a second national media to balance out such publishings?

Do you consider the survey 'biased' because it doesn't confirm your anti immigrant views or is there some other reason to consider it biased?

in the privacy of your own home or on a designated beach, knock yourself out.

Its not being a prude to call this out. The loonies are in charge of the asylum.

Can you pass on a few examples of these, not doubting you, just your post is meaningless without examples of the articles you read or interviews you listened to.

I have doubt they have an agenda like others, so would be interested to learn more about what you are telling us.

Will never pay for the IT or the Indo.

Rags..both of them. I dont subscribe to Gript, but the irish times isnt much better at all. Its days as the paper of record are long since passed away. Its mainly preachy Op-ed articles these days...and ive enough of being lectured to by the irish media.

Dont think there is an irish media outlet worth paying for anymore… gript included.

Naked bike rides have been a thing for at least 20 years. It's literally just a bit of fun.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clothing-optional_bike_ride

As per usual though, the morality police such as yourself have to come along and shame everyone involved into thinking they've done something wrong.

    Prudish and puritanical.

The money is probably going into the bank account of an Algerian migrant soon enough which is hilarious.

I won't apologise for thinking its wrong. If I cycled through the streets naked I'd be arrested, and rightly so.

If you cycled through the street as part of an organised nudist cycle with lots of other nude people you wouldn't be arrested.

Isn't that the whole point of the article?

God help him if he ever goes anywhere near Germany. I've never met a country of people so eager to be in the nip whenever they can 😂

I understand your knee jerk reaction to every post you disagree with, just labelling everyone anti this it anti that without any degree of accuracy is just tiresome at this stage. Not everyone who asks how many people can we safely let into this country is anti immigration, but don’t let that stop you.

FYI the study they report, and which you find yourself digesting and fully accepting without question, was conducted by Ireland thinks for MRCI.

For me I would raise a similar eyebrow if Gript published a study too, but you have enhanced the point in question, the reason for asking the question was for the benefit of people like yourself, those who digest and accept whatever RTÉ publish as gospel.

It's been happening since at least 2010 and most people view it as an amusing event once a year. It's been reported on since then and Cork people have no real issue it.. So the fact it's taken 14 years for somebody to be vocally outraged indicates that most people view it as pretty harmless. I don't see anything inherently immoral. Also it happens in cities across the globe.

The Councillor Ken O' Flynn has a brother who attempted to take a hit out on a garda and judge so tis a bit hilarious for him to take a moral high ground.
