this pit lane stuff needs to get penalties. It’s ridiculous.

That should have happened earlier in the season and it would've stopped sharpish.

Interesting, is this real pace with the mercs or track evolution?

    Sainz is a lucky boy.

So with the multiple investigations that will happen after the session the grid could a bit all over the shop which is good.

Defo part track evolution. I’d expect Max and George are going to get a 5 place grid drop.

Albon is kicked out, poor fella.

Hopefully Verstappen, Hamilton and Russell will get grid penalties so Ricciardo hopefully takes pole

Ricciardo making a case for that second RB seat

Where did that come from with the red cars! Looked nowhere up till now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,440 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

The Ferrari lads pulled laps out of nowhere.

Well done Ferrari! 3 tenths cover the top 6.

Ric ahead of Perez....Red front row lock out..... no one saw that coming.

2 laps from Absolutely no where for the Ferraris's making up a second from Quali 2 to Quali 3.

Two Alfa's in the top 10. Great qualifying for them.

Ferrari one two, happy days but I'm fully ready for the disappointment to follow tomorrow

So it'll be another Max win from a LeClerc pole.

    Hopefully. 😁

Danny Ric qualifying 4th ahead of Perez in 5th and Yuki 15th - impressive stuff.

A bit embarrassing for Checo in a RB getting out qualified at his home GP by Ricciardo in an Alpha Tauri

Good to see Riccardo up there, wonder if Norris can recover to get some points. Hope it's a good race.

10 place grid penalty for Sargeant for overtaking under a yellow flag

Watch quali highlights on channel 4 just there. Might not be a popular view, but sky's coverage is better across the board for me.

Regarding qualifying, mad there was no penalties for Verstappen or Russell, but the stewards said that it was okay because otherwise there would have been dangerous traffic at the end of the lap. Seems like something needs to be done going forward though.

Great qualifying for ferrari, but still see them slipping back once race gets going. And great result from Ricciardo, hopefully he can turn it into something mega tomorrow..

Finally, you could hear the Perez fans shouting over Verstappen when being interviewed, I don't get it. It's not like they are close together or direct competitors - it's delusional to think they are. They could do with growing up a little.

Great qualifying by Ferrari and delighted for Daniel too. Would love to see him get a podium in the race now.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

Why is there little or no mention of Verstappen and Russell's investigation on the F1 site? You have to dig deep into the FIA website to find the answer. The rules are contradictory is the reason....

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,582 ✭✭✭Corben Dallas

That's not the first time Max has blocked the pitlane exit.... why didn't he get a penalty? FIA are afraid to hand our penalties to top drivers, not brave enough to do it.

If you're parked at the head of the Q at pit lane exit if you don't move off within 3 sec you should get a penalty. Unless its a provable technical issue stopping the car from moving, that driver gets a penalty.

As much as they deserved penalties it's a bit much to say the FIA are afraid to hand them out to top drivers less than a week after they full on disqualified Leclerc and Hamilton from a GP!

It's just their usual crap inconsistencies.

Looking at the on boards, Russell came to a complete stop but there was an Aston and Ferrari stopped further up at the pit exit but Verstappen didn't actually stop the car just kept it rolling very slowly trying to make some space. It would seem like the FIA would rather the cars backed up in the pitlane than the final sector but they can't come out at Singapore saying they got it wrong and not penalise drivers when they do it again. It the usual inconsistent nature of the FIA
