"how many did the IDF get on target to kill kids and women today"

not sure how many missiles they fired but today they bombed a hospital and killed 20 people including children.

"At least 20 people have been killed and dozens more injured after an Israeli airstrike targeting a school in Gaza, health authorities have said.

Reuters news agency reported the number of dead, citing medics, with the school in the Daraj neighbourhood in Gaza City having been used to shelter displaced people who had fled previous bombardments."

Hmmm. So, if the ICJ finds that Israel has committed Genocide, you believe the reaction of the world will be tumbleweed?

You might explain your final sentence?

Unnfortunately, while it will be awkward for Israel, nothing of consequence will ultimately happen unless the Americans withdraw support. We can only speculate what pressure will be put on the judges of the court not to find against Israel. So I am not confident of a finding against Israel in any case.

This current review of trade relations announced by Lammy seems like a sham to appease growing public discontent and discord within the Labour Party . There was no need for a review in relation to Russia. Britain and other countries took decisive action.

It would not surprise me if Ursula and Kier have given Israel assurances privately that no sanctions will be placed on Israel.

I know that, but it addresses the lies they post about Hamas and its allies no longer being a threat to Israel.

It isn’t just growing — these protests have been happening for months. For some reason, the media over here aren't covering them. I'm guessing it just doesn't fit the 'Israel bad, Palestine good' narrative. People here might start realizing that the majority of Israelis aren't like Bibi, Smotrich, Ben-Gvir, and company — and we can't have the waters muddied like that.

Am Yisrael Chai - Bring them home.

The BBC have been covering them.

The majority of Israelis in a recent poll were happy to see Palestinians expelled from Gaza. They are very much like Bibi if that Haaretz poll is indeed an accurate reflection of how they feel.

Analysis of the recent polling in Israel

    https://scotgoespop.blogspot.com/2025/05/the-poll-so-dark-that-it-will-make-you.html

"In the seventeen years I've been writing this blog, I've covered hundreds and probably thousands of opinion polls, but none have been as dark as this one.  In fact it's almost sinister that it occurred to anyone to ask these questions in the first place, but they obviously knew the target population better than the rest of us did.

In a Geocartography poll which seems to have been conducted among a representative sample of Israeli Jews (ie. excluding the one quarter of Israeli citizens who are not Jews, most of them Palestinian Arabs), 47% say that the Israeli army should kill all of the inhabitants of any city that it conquers. "

Ordinary Israelis might not be like the particularly odious members of the Israeli Govt. Nor do they have the power and control either.

All they can do, until the next election, is pressure them as much as possible.

Until then, alleged war criminal #1 will continue to perpetrate genocide. There is little Israelis, horrified at the direction they are being led in, can do.

@taratee , you are one of the main posters on this site equating all Jewish Israelis (and all Jews around the world) as being just like Netenyahu, Smotrich, etc. You yourself have the waters extremely muddied, and are claiming others are doing it, it insane.

We can all see what is happening in Gaza, it isn't being hidden, and those illustrious politicians you mention are all very open about what they are doing.

By you equating opposition to the way this conflict is being fought as being antisemetic, you are ergo framing this war as representative of Judaism, which it absolutely isn't, million of Jews around the world would be horribly offended by that accusation and are totally against this. Maybe before lecturing others you yourself could check the damage you are doing.

This war will end and there will be ramifications, and posters like you will have the world believing all Jews were complicit.

Bernie Sanders pointing out his views on antisemitism -

Mr Sanders said: "I am Jewish, I detest antisemitism, as I hope everybody does. It's a horribly destructive ideology.

"But to be critical of Netanyahu's right wing extremist government who have killed some 53,000 people in Gaza, already, mostly women and children, that is not antisemitic, that is taking on an extremist, ugly government that is doing terrible things."

Trump has called Putin "crazy" after his armys latest attacks on Ukraine. Not a mention of Israels madness or Netanyahus govt. How can he tolerate what Israel is doing while calling the other crazy?

The mind boggles at the seeming acceptance of what Israel is doing in Gaza in the western world!

Because Trump like any bully wouldnt have the spine to stand up to the Jewish population in the US.

Its all well and good calling Putin whatever he wants when Putins half a world away but if Trump starts talking crap about the Israelis or Jews in the US he`ll have to put up with their backlash in his own backyard or even lose their support.

If this genocide continues he`ll probably have no problem criticizing them when hes in the last few months of his presidency as hes the type to leave the crap for the next president to sort out.

German chancellor is a touch pathetic. He’ll tell Netanyahu not do over do it while simultaneously saying he’s overdoing it. Pathetic weak man

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has said Israel's recent attacks on Gaza are "no longer justified".

Speaking to German broadcasters about strikes in recent weeks, he said: "Harming the civilian population to such an extent, as has increasingly been the case in recent days, can no longer be justified as a fight against Hamas terrorism."

He plans to tell Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu not "to not overdo it," when he calls him this week, he added.

The Germans would rather the entire thing went away. Genocide is not something they like to discuss after them having committed it themselves. They've gone from being ' in your face ' to running away.

The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation and Safe Reach Solutions appear to be on shaky ground already. It was reported yesterday that the Swiss may open a legal investigation too.

Jake Wood, a senior figure in the humanitarian community who took on the role of CEO of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, a U.S.-backed nonprofit overseeing a food aid distribution scheme in Gaza, announced his immediate resignation, saying that it is "impossible to implement the plan while upholding the humanitarian principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality, and independence – principles I will not compromise on."

A Haaretz investigation found that Netanyahu's office chose Safe Reach Solutions, a company funded by the GHF, to distribute aid in Gaza without going through the necessary channels and behind the back of the Israeli defense establishment.

Seems the Israelis are doubling down - not surprising.

I've seen no reports yet on the Beeb…

Israel's Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer threatened the United Kingdom and France that Israel may annex parts of the West Bank if they recognize a Palestinian state in a conversation with French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot, a foreign diplomat told Haaretz.

The child seen in the video of the burning building reportedly escaped. No mention of injuries to her but her two siblings were killed:

Video footage shared online shows six-year-old Ward Jalal Al-Shaikh Khalil escaping a blaze at a Gaza City school following overnight Israeli air strikes. Among the 35 Palestinians reported to have been killed at the the Fahmi Al-Jargawi School were Ward's mother and two siblings. Her father is in intensive care in hospital.

Can you just imagine the mental health problems this one sided slaughter is having on the children of Gaza who have survived the murder spree thus far.

No homes, no food, no water, no electricity, no permanent shelter, no safe place, no schools, daily bombardment, constant displacement, no medical facilities, malnourished, relatives murdered indiscriminately, no end in sight.

Their mental health will be utterly destroyed for the rest of their lives....if they survive.

    Only Palestinians.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

All news websites have a template ready x no of people killed in Gaza in location x. Hospital refugee camp ... Women children killed no x location x .. meanwhile hamas are 100 per cent safe hiding in tunnels it's simply ethnic cleansing Sean moncrieff usually rights an article every week about random light hearted subject this week is the first time its about the obscene genocide in Gaza

I think sky news is doing good reporting every day on Gaza I think BBC is afraid to be seen as pro Palestinian. Its reporting is not so explicit

Yeats quote Too long a sacrifice makes s stone of the heart

Gaza reminds me of America every week there seems to be someone random shooting a group of people

I can't watch full news reports of daily bombing s in Gaza it's too much grief

Trump will talk to any tv reporter about any subject he never talks about the war in Gaza

He,s afraid to lose the Jewish vote

You don't need to subscribe to watch this surgeon's report. Hard to comprehend that this has been normalised. A lot of people are afraid to say how they truly feel, as they depend on US jobs and are subservient to US social media. It's a dangerous world we live in.

These are dangerous days. To say what you feel is to dig your own grave

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,250 ✭✭✭dmcdona

I cannot imagine it at all. I've tried but I think it is impossible to contemplate what they are going through because the last time anything like this happened was 80 years ago.

The carnage, the charred bodies, the body parts strewn everywhere would reduce an adult to a quivering wreck. What that does to a child is unimaginable.

The only Palestinians who will come out of this without mental scars for life will be those that Israel has murdered. For them, to be dead is a blessing.

I think his very simple statement echoes what many are feeling right now. But of course, not everyone feels that - some revel in it.

Seán Moncrieff: "I am seldom lost for words, but the atrocities in Gaza leave me speechless"

Israelis celebrating the country's conquest of the eastern part of Jerusalem during the 1967 Mideast war: "death to Arabs" and "may your village burn"

"How can he tolerate what Israel is doing.."

The very reason Trump is US President again is because he is their sock puppet. There was a very clear shift among Jews after October 7th 2023 to a Trump presidency. They wanted him in there to give them carte blanche to do whatever they wanted without all the usual games that go on in the Democrat party playing to their leftist constituency — pretending to be conflicted about what Israel does e.g. when Joe Biden pretended there was a review ongoing while the US withheld delivery of weapons last May but then sent them anyway shortly after to continue to be used to in terror bombings to target civilians and civil infrastructure and not just in Gaza. They were tired of playing the optics game and wanted someone to be up front and brazenly genocidal — they wanted Trump and they got him.

The Jews in Germany had a chance to escape after Hitler came to power Theres nowhere safe for people in Gaza to go. They have a choice wait to get bombed or die of starvation if there's any hope it's running out fast 100s if trucks wait at the border with tonnes of food and medical supplies. Maybe Israel will let a fraction through

We need a new band aid bob

Gaza Aid maybe a protest concert with some singers from Palestine and singers from the west

We are used to seeing starving Africans

This famine is not caused by lack of food it's a months long blockade designed to cause suffering maybe the new pope will make a statement asking for mercy

    Good point.

This famine is not caused by lack of food

    It's not a famine, it's Genocide.

sweet Jesus, haven’t the Gazans suffered enough without that 🔔 end, Geldof hijacking their cause? This conflict has nothing to do with money.

The place is awash with aid, food, and some of the most resourceful, brilliant and resilient people on earth. They don’t need ego tripping celebs to help. Israel need to allow the aid to flow!!!

I’ve seen this Doctor being interviewed before. He is an absolute hero in my eyes, as are all medical staff who travel to work in Gaza. The very best of humanity. I don’t know that I could be that brave, in fact I’m pretty sure I couldn’t.
