Where is the cheapest place to buy Milwaukee power tools?

Hi all, Hoping someone can help with advice on the cheapest place to buy a Milwaukee tool? My mechanic son is looking for this and I can only see online offers from UK, and they are over €500 - so don't want to risk an online purchase. The actual tool is Impact gun - Milwaukee M18 ONEFHIWF12-502X 18V Fuel ONE-KEY Brushless 1/2" Impact Wrench Kit with Friction Ring & 2x 5.0Ah Batteries. I am happy to travel between Dublin and Belfast eg Dundalk, Newry etc. Amazon don't seem to ship electric items. Thanks in advance? PS All I need is the name of a large stockist for this brand. Cheap is good - but happy to get at any decent price. Thanks again.

i wouldnt hesitate to buy online. powertool mate, ffx etc are great to deal with. uk customes is the problem.

Thanks very much @the_pen_turner - that's a very helpful list, which I will keep for future reference. I kept Googling, and ended up finding that Caulfields in Galway had a good price for what I wanted. I do a lot of online shopping, but son is just an apprentice and I was nervous in case anything would go wrong for him. I appreciate your help.

Screwfix and P J Fallon in Roscommon were good when we bought ours a couple of years ago.

Not much help, I bought a few smaller items (jack, jack stands etc) from this crowd in Ballymount a few years ago and found them good on selection and price at the time. In terms of power tools they only had Milwaukee and had a good selection in stock so had a search for above but they're showing that impact wrench at €565 so no bargain.

Have you checked the likes Screwfix, they don't appear to have above model but have similar looking wrenches so not sure of/any differences.

They look like exactly the same to the extent that I's say they were the same and same as OP was looking for, so Screwfix.ie sell it for a fraction under €500 from a bricks and mortar shop. You can pay cash in the shop but you'll have to wait for them to get it in if you don't want to pay online.

Screwfix are great they are fast delivery or pick up. I brought back a multitool within a year of buying with the packaging and they replaced no problem

Thanks everyone for your help. For speed and convenience sake, I ended up going with Caulfield's of Galway, who who were very efficient and delivered the next day. But thanks to all your advice, I have some stockists for items in future. Regarding ordering from overseas, I am wary of customs and taxes being added, and hence getting a shock, especially on an expensive item. Anyway - thanks all :)

You now need a VPN to access Home Depot - Addresspal always low balled the value as there is no invoice in the box from Home Depot - So that deal I posted would be close to €1,500 here at the time (I paid just $399 for Impact Driver, Drill Driver and Framing Naler), Addresspal valued the total package at $100 ! and charged me €41.99 for Shipping and that is it. I have numerous tools that will last 20 years (DIYer) as well as Milwaukee Garden tools such as Strimmer/Edger/Blower etc.

So What was over €1500 here at the time I paid the following

$399 to Home Depot

€41.99 to Addresspal for Shipping

€29.57 to AnPost for Customs

So less than 1/3 what the same Milwaukee tools would cost here.

I just checked and I had 13 different orders over 18 Months and all went the same way with similar savings....

What ? All the tools are the same . The chargers that came with the tools all work with my 110v Transformer . But I also have the Milwaukee 3 Pin Rapid charger that I bought for €30 and it rapidly charges my M18 and M12 batteries at the same time....

?? 220 Charger is less that 30 quid - I have probably 20 Milwaukee tools/garden equipment (all bought from US via Home Depot/Addresspal) with maybe 8 batteries - 3 x M!8 and 5 x M12 batteries and a 30 quid charger is more than enough - I am happy with my approach , I have an array of professional top of the range Milwaukee gear for the same price as the equivalent inferior tat on sale in Woodies/B&Q.

Why only Milwaukee?, Hilti do impacts as do DeWalt, Amazon do ship electrical products, Ive got lawn mowers, drills, strimmers, screens etc in Amazon

AMAZON rarely ship any power tools with batteries to Ireland from their fulfilment centres. That item isn't being sold by Amazon its being sold by a third party seller so will go through customs and attract VAT on top of that price making it around €570, more expensive than for example srewfix.ie.

Shipping to me, @ €469.48 all in with 1 battery on my Amazon prime account, if over 150, duties are always added at checkout and not afterwards after I've paid. I've never dealt with customs through Amazon or had issues with batteries.

Different story with kitchen knives.

Amazon won't now ship knives from UK

Same with my 1440p 144hz curved monitor, €249 all in, @€350 everywhere else.

There's also a fulfilment centre in Ireland now in baldonnell and third party sellers can use Amazons fulfillment centres FBA once they reach a certain goal.

This is a big problem. For example I bought an excellent Einhell hedge cutter which came with a battery. I can't buy a second battery from Amazon & will have to buy locally at a much higher cost. The other option is to buy another tool that uses the same battery but then you end up with two chargers.

Lidl & Aldi are even more attractive now.

Yeah tell me about knives, spotted a nice little pocket knife when in the UK and checked Amazon who were a lot cheaper. Got home to Ireland and I can't buy it :-(

With Market Place sellers on amazon you pay Amazon then get hit with customs when the goods enter Ireland that is handling fee + VAT on total price including delivery charges. Without the handling fee that comes to €579. Depending the carrier the handling fee could be up to €15.37

DPD seem to be charging €5 flat rate. (plus VAT = €6.15)

Edit> You might even get hit with a customs charge for Import Duty of 2.7% if the item is considered to be an electric drill (see link above).

That's really weird, as it wasn't the case for my screen, which was 3rd party but came through Amazon fulfilment as the third party but they were an FBA. And was delivered by an my usual Amazon driver.

Might be different for drills, or they might not be an FBA seller.

I wanted to buy decent knives for the kitchen, but all knives sales were stopped on Amazon recently.

I generally try to do purchases under 150, but the monitor and gopro 7 black were over that and wasn't charged extra on delivery and both were third party stores selling on Amazon in UK but it was fulfilled by Amazon so all calculated on checkout.

With marketplace sellers who are fba, amazon will calculate and charge the Customs, Duties and Taxes during the order process, and relieve you from the customs formalities. It's sent to Amazon by the seller, packed by Amazon and then sent to me through their network.

Same when I use stockx, all taxes and duties are calculated on checkout and never had to deal with customs, and that's usually DHL if from America or ups if from Hong Kong or Japan

If it comes through Amazon even if its a third party seller then what you see at the checkout is what you pay. When you see Dispatches from: Company other than Amazon, it goes through customs. In this case

Do they? I thought they just did M12 batteries in different sizes? Some fit in the tool handle and some of the larger amperage ones have a block stuck on the bottom of them.
