I know it has been mentioned in other threads, but the quality of public transport information has dropped severely in recent months under TFI. Timetables There are now multiple bus operators in Dublin yet there is still no single place for passengers to consult timetables online. Dublin Bus, Go-Ahead and other operators…

The NTA were recently recruiting for a direct staff member for RTPI signage. Due to being an public sector Engineer pay scale you needed to have a craft cert as a mechanic, electrician or aviation mechanic as well as an IT BSc plus substantial experience
As a result the money was appalling - you'd not do that job if you were qualified as a sparks or a mechanic; and the pay was just about ok for the required IT side.
Using a contractor gets around that requirement
