My name becomes extinct from Friday and I got no luck today.

Have seen the Speak Now, 1989 and Reputation tours so not giving up hope yet.

If fate should step in.....long live.

You could get in on the midnights presale code? People will be moved off the waiting list as many have applied to multiple shows and won’t need that amount of tickets.

are you going to re reg as Speak Now Taylors Version?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,181 ✭✭✭Zardoz

The sh*t show in the US was mostly down to the moronic idea of putting tickets for most of the tour on sale at the same time and Ticketmasters website was inevitably overwhelmed.

What kind of morons think its a good idea to try to sell 2.4 million tickets at the same time.

At least now they have staggered the sale times and staggered different countries over different days of the week, this is common sense, finally some common sense.

I presume it's a unique code rather than one you can just share with us? 😋

My daughter and I got ours too overnight. Did anyone who got an album presale notification also get a TM general sale notification?

In our house the only person who got a TM general sale notification was my wife, even though she has never purchased anything through her Ticketmaster account. Whereas my 13 year history and my son's 2 year history on our TM accounts counted for nothing, it seems.

My wife was speculating that maybe I didn't get selected for a TM code because TM was aware I'd be getting an album presale code. I'm not so sure that TM could really be on top of things to that extent, though.

yeah they can only be used with the ticketmaster registered email, and that email has to match the email the taylorswift store has on file for your order... 4 tickets per pre sale code.. mine hasnt arrived but got an email yesterday to say it should arrive today/tomorrow and to contact them tomorrow if it hasnt turned up - it also says i can only use the code for the dublin dates with the actual pre sale next friday... it was supposed to be tuesday next week

Its essentially a lottery, the process.

Accounts that buy alot of tickets are discarded and the rest go into a lottery.

    Thats it, nothing complicated.

It's not that many years ago since we had to queue up outside in the rain at a ticketmaster booth, to try to be towards the top of the queue before the larger gigs were sold out.

Nowadays we just sit in front of a laptop, press a few buttons and hey presto - a few minute a virtual ticket lands in our ticketmaster app. I would say that's huge progress.

And in reality this is a once in every 5 years tour from her and doubt she will do a greatest hits tour like this anytime soon

Tomorrow is a great day for us Swifties. Speak Now is one of her best albums.

No sections blocked off by that map which is very unusual

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,463 ✭✭✭✭Exclamation Marc

Was thinking the same. Behind the stage will surely be blocked off.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,224 ✭✭✭crl84

On the US tour, the equivalent of sections 534/546 was seating, with no view of the main stage whatsoever, but screens pointed back for those people that didn't have a stage view. They had a view of the diamond-shaped B-stage though, where a lot of the actual show takes place.

Should really have them as cheaper "restricted view" seats though.

What way will this work come sale day (and also presale day) my daughter has both.

will we just randomly go into the ticket master queue about 10-30 mins before sale time

will the unique code need to be entered beforehand somewhere ??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,558 ✭✭✭Jaffa3000

You’ll definitely need to enter the code(s) somewhere on Ticketmaster.

Enter the waiting room before they go on sale and then it’s luck of the draw where Ticketmaster place you in the queue.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 43 Chocolate Chip

I think it’s a really bad way to do it and unfair that people can’t even get into the queue. I also think they way they are ramping up the prices for these ‘platinum’ tickets which are exactly the same as other tickets is a con.

I hope they do an audit of Ticketmaster like they are doing on RTE right now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,174 ✭✭✭Jizique

TM is owned by Luve Nation a US listed company so good luck with that

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,868 ✭✭✭Fanirish

And they argue that they are offering tickets at prices based on demand like other industries such as flights/hotels.

and that they are capturing money that would of went to touts

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,558 ✭✭✭Jaffa3000

Arguing that they rob peoples money like touts do isn’t a very strong argument. The difference between flights/hotels being that TM are selling tickets on behalf of someone else and it’s unfeasible for acts to sell their own tickets

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,560 ✭✭✭BlackEdelweiss

Hypothetical situation: My wife and I are both in the running for tickets on 2 different accounts. If it happened that we got to the point where we both buy tickets (my wife will be in work so we can't really communicate), can I resell the tickets? Not trying to be a tout or anything, they would go straight to my daughters friends who were all waitlisted.

I just don't want to be stuck with 8 tickets and only able to use 4. We had 2 tickets for counting crows recently and couldn't go at the last minute and wanted to give the tickets away but could not even do that. Left 2 empty seats in the venue which was a total waste.

I'm well aware that I might get none but just trying to get a plan together.

Nothing been confirmed as far as reselling yet. At the very least I’d guess it’s going to be like Springsteen where tickets weren’t visible until a week before and transfer was unavailable until then as well.

E: It’s 4 tickets per household so tickets would be cancelled if that’s enforced
