Best saw type for cutting logs and timbers

    Hi

I am completely clueless here so bear with me.

I am buying a wood burning stove and I have access to a wood supply of various kinds (mainly fallen tree trunks but also some timber planks).

I want to be able to saw logs and planks with an electric powered saw.

I am thinking I need a table saw or mitre saw on a stand so that I can hold a log to the blade while it cuts into stove sized pieces. I do not want a chainsaw as I guess I then need to keep adjusting the wood in some sort of clamp or vice.

Does what I am saying even make sense? Any advice please. I am happy to spend maybe 200 euro on this but would hope it will last. Thanks!
