Plastering Rates June 2023

Hi everybody,

I am wondering if anyone can help or give an input on prices per square meter for plastering.

I am hoping to find prices for

1. Sand and cement external render (Scud, scratch and finish coat)
2. Skimming
3. External insulation all works from boarding to finish coat (acrylic finish).

It’s labour only prices per square meter I was hoping to find out about.

I’m in County Cork, if rates differ, I would imagine Dublin etc. is more expensive.

All help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I probably can't give an exactly like for like example but maybe at least some guide to help on my plastering requirements.

1.Sand and cement external (scratch and finish - scudding a thing of the past in most builds now). This including preparing steel over large doors/windows for plastering.

2. Sand and cement on internal walls followed by skimming.

In the South East (rural) prices were in the region of 7 to 7.50 per sqft labour only - my prices were from before Christmas though so probably towards the higher end of that range now if now more.

We recently got a plasterer in to do some work in our house, told us he doesnt price by the meter, just charges a daily rate of 200 + the material costs which came to just over 30 euro, he actually got a lot done in the 1 day he was here got small box room plastered 4 walls & ceiling, we had expected prices of somehwere between 400 - 500

the plasterer is currently on site doing my new build. the rates below are ex. VAT.

1. sand and cement render external (scud, scratch and finish coat) = €30/m2
2. sand and cement render internal (scud and scratch) = €10/m2
3. skimming (2 layers) = €10/m2

the above includes install of beading, insulated plasterboard to reveals and cleaning up after each day. the plasterer is based in east cork - a 5 man team.

two other quotes i got were almost exactly the same.

My plasterer charges the same 200 per day. The materials you buy them yourself. Dublin based.

I'm after getting a quote for €2,500 for a sand and cement external render to an outside boundary wall with a sponge finish. It's around 30m2 in total. I'm not wrong in thinking that's a bit of a mad price, surely? Dublin based.

What would the expected price be for such work?

Hi folks, would appreciate a DM with a good plasterer based on South Dublin to sort out 35 to 40 chases following an house electrical rewire. Hearing prices of up to 3000 which sounds huge considering (but then again, I'm not in the trade). So maybe it is. Asking around for quotes but looks like some folks on here have some good recommendations. Will take any and all! Cheers

Fot kitchen, box room, hall, stairs and landing walls plastered. Cost me 1500 and had three lads do it in a two days. That was in the summer and all good still.
