hi all

just in regards to the joint license want to try and get a friend down on a 17hmr, what sections does he fill this would be his first firearm just a bit confused!

FCA1 is used which needs to completely filled in as a normal application would.

In section 4.1 you insert the cert number of the person currently licensed (you). Same with section 3.3. I fill in this when I'm getting a joint license. Use the private source boxes and supply the person's name, address, contact info and cert number.

The rest is as normal.

On the subject of joint licences, are there any restrictions to being a "joint licencee" or are both licence holders considered equal? For example, if Licencee 1 has the primary storage location, is it possible for Licencee 2 to store for short periods (meeting the storage requirements) and to effectively be in possession of the firearm?

No restrictions.

A joint license is the exact same as a "standard" license in every way.

It's just two or more people licensed on the same firearm at the same time.
