More than likely this will be an easy win for Max but would be great if Aston Martin and Alonso could somehow find a way to win it here. Dreaming I know. Monaco really was there best chance for a win and they came so close to it happening to.

2016 we thought it was going to be either Rosberg or Hamilton and look what happened there.

Looking forward to seeing the new cars on the old layout. Anyone care to look up the track (not the race lap) record for this layout.

Also, a mad stat, Alonso is the only driver to have raced on this layout of the track. It was changed in 2007, madness.

Max P1 with Sergio 0.7s behind in 2nd. Ocon a further 0.1 back in 3rd. Ferrari, Aston and Merc over a second slower. Early days yet though and who knows what the order will be if the rain comes.

Most of the drivers complaining of bouncing into that last corner.

Great stat on BBC: this is Alonso's 362nd GP and this will be F1's 1086th GP. So by Sunday evening Alonso will have taken part in a third of all F1 GPs ever!

Please nobody fact check that. It's such a class stat, I don't want to know if it's not true.
